Some mods i made primarily for myself, but why not share them?

Ok so first things first. Three of the mods are quite simple and just ornamentals.

The first one is the Lighthouse, which for whatever reason didn't work for me when i downloaded the mod for it, so i made my own version.

It unlocks with workers, is placed on both harbour menus, low cost to build, and comes with a custom made icons for old and new world.

Then i did some changes to the Cargostorage mod, from DaLexy and Fishboss which is contained in the Spice it Up collection.

Credits to him by the way for the great job of creating those awesome models!

Maybe not "some". First of all i added descriptions and names to the warehouses, i added custom icons again for old and new world alike, i created a storage depot that can be placed on land (just storage not warehouse), also i changed when you can access them and how.

First warehouse (small with 2 ramps) is unlocked at the beginning, and all of them are unhidden.

Second warehouse (medium with 3 ramps) + Land Storage Depot are unlocked with the first worker.

Third warehouse (large with 4 ramps) is unlocked with the first artisan

    For the new world:

First warehouse (small with 2 ramps) is unlocked at the beginning.

Second warehouse (medium with 3 ramps) + Land Storage Depot are unlocked with 50 (i think) jornaleros

Third warehouse (large with 4 ramps) is unlocked with the first obrero

Also added the sub-menu that contains all of the warehouses in the Farmers, Workers, Artisans, Jornaleros, Obrerors construction menu's because the warehouse is the most commonly built building.

and then i did a complete costs overhaul which i will detail now.

Warehouse Cost (money) Cost (timber) Cost (bricks) Cost (maintenance) Storage
    Small (2 ramps) 500$ 10 0 20$ 10 tons
    Medium (3 ramps) 750$ 10 0 50$ 20 tons
    Large 1500$ 15 10 100$ 50 tons
    Depot 1000$ 10 5 75$ 50 tons

Yes i know they are pretty cheap. If you want you can easily change those numbers from the assets.xml, i placed specific functions to change those which are easy to spot because they are commented.

Then i did 2 ornamentals for Edvards and Archibalds mansions, with their own icons.

    Lighthouse old world icon.

    Lighthouse new world icon

Edvard's and Archibald's mansions as ornaments only, dirt cheap, with custom icons made from screenshots i took of the buildings.

Old World warehouses each with it's own icon

New World warehouses each with it's own icon

    Instructional Videos/Guides available

    Hello everyone!

I recently started playing Anno 1800 (first anno game too) and so far as you might expect I am loving it.
I have started one or two times to learn about the game and improve my knowledge, however I am now at the point where my island is getting full and I am lacking space to do the things I need.

Looking back I see that I did not do all my placements optimal for looking into the future (think oil/traintracks having to go through my city if I would want to use them). So I tried to find some videos or tip/tricks/guides on how to prepare and things to take into account for the future and what you might want to build on your mainland/side lands however I was not able to find any.

So my question is if there is any guide/video/person that discloses information such as when it is best to head to new islands, how many to get, what to think about with building orders and city planning.

Another question I had lingering which is a little more vague but I recon there are some big points that everyone knows, what are some do's and don'ts. Some examples, you can buy items, should you?(guessing yes on this one) But then which ones should you try to get and which ones should you avoid, when should you start focusing on expeditions? Do you buy shares from other players/when would you?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this :)

ps. just to make clear, I do understand production lines and have seen the finished building layouts with optimal efficiency on the internet. That is however a snapshot of what it should look like, not how to get there.
