Anno 1800 Computer players Alignment understanding? Posted: 07 May 2020 05:17 AM PDT Basically what exactly is the nature of each computer player? I'm running into some things repeatedly so I'm guessing there's a pattern to this
Do I have this right? Or is my playstyle way too aggressive to warrant such behaviors? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2020 05:16 AM PDT So, I'm still trying to take over an island because of space shortage... I can't seem to take over islands... I have a fleet of about 30 ships, a mix of ships-of-the-line, frigates, monitors and battle cruisers. Almost all ships are equipped with war items (rockets, bombs, guns, captains,...). I even sacrificed most of my zoo, museum and bota gardens to get enough influence points to be able to build that many ships. When I declare war, I can attack the harbour. But once it gets below the critical point, with less than half of the opponent's morale left, it stops. There is no way to continue attacking. After a while a clock appears, counting down 2:30 minutes (or 3:00?) and the message that I should resume the attack. When it counts down to 0:00, I lost and the island is healthy again, and still in the hand of the original owner. According to the wiki on "Island Takeover" at some point I should be presented with the option to either continue the attack, or stop it and buy the island. I never get that option. I only get a peace treaty, leading into war stopping, but me still not getting the island. Taking over an island without war isn't possible either. You need to wait 10 minutes after buying a share to buy the next, and buy then the first one has been bought off me again. Any hints on how to solve this and get my much needed island? Posted: 07 May 2020 11:14 AM PDT Hi! So, a few months ago, I've decided to cease all work on my Crown Falls because The Passage would change things up a bit and I would hate to redesign a city because I couldn't wait a couple of months. Now I've decided to go back to Cape Trelawney and there's also Seat of Power to play around with, and I'm a bit confused about a few things. Perhaps, the more experienced players here can help me out.
Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2020 10:29 AM PDT Is there any condition for the AIs to reach investor level? I have waited with killing them because I want to get better loot from the main island. I am 20 hours in and they are still on engineers. Is there any precondition on my side like world fair built or something else? (3x 3star AI) [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2020 08:51 AM PDT So I've never really modded a game before this one. I have consumed a bunch of video content on this game. (Shout out to Takarazuka) and some people use a lot of mods that really change up the game. And i found myself in quite the pickle. On one hand i think its super annoying that the oil rigs can't touch all of the oil springs, and so i thought, well that's a good mod... then i thought, OK, town halls are super small.... and then i was the rivers are annoying in the new world... and then i thought it would be cool to have commuter piers in all sessions... I think I've gone too far, and kinda want to take them all off and start again. but also i feel like these things should just be in the game? Anyone else have these dilemmas? I want the game to have its challenges, but also they just seem extra for no reason. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2020 04:36 AM PDT Ive been playing Anno 1800 for about 150 hours. When i started playing everything was fine, recently the game has started crashing alot. Within 5 minutes of loading a save file the game crashes for no reason. I have tried changing settings, starting new games, verifying files, changing versions (DX11 and DX12). My only option is to uninstall which i don't really want to do becouse i Believe it will remove my save files (i may be wrong). If you have any advice or know how to fix this problem then please let me know, i love Anno 1800 so it sucks not being able to play it. [link] [comments]
ANNO 1800 & CPUs - which one would be best? Posted: 07 May 2020 03:55 AM PDT Hey, a question to the tech-minded folks out here. I'm upgrading my PC soon-ish and I'm torn between CPU options. My main concern are games like ANNO and other builder/simulation titles (not all of them this beautiful, admittedly :P). The question concerns the FPS with BIG, lategame metropolis, with tons of trade routes and all sectors open. Early game is fine even on my CPU but the FPS drops off the face of the planet later on. So that's what I'm looking at when it comes to this upgrade. For now the decision is mainly between Ryzen r5 3600 and Ryzen r7 3700x. Question here - would going for the r7 actually make a noticeable difference in ANNO 1800's performance? Or would it be negligible? Is it worth it, future-proofing wise, or not really? And with that solved, does anyone have an opinion about the new Intel Comet Lake CPUs? Is it worth waiting to see their benchmarks or better just go for AMD and call it a day? Thanks! Anno 1800 Calculator with newspaper buffs Posted: 06 May 2020 03:09 PM PDT I've been trying a lot of calculators lately to figure out how many production chains I need but a major thing I'm missing in all of them is how to handle the newspaper buffs, specifically the one that reduces consumption of goods by 10/20/30%. Does anyone know of a web based or app calculator where you can just turn that option on across the board? Right now I'm micromanaging this individually per chain. I've checked every calculator posted on the overview on this fandom page: https://anno1800.fandom.com/wiki/Anno_1800_Needs_Calculators_Overview So far the only calculator that seems to support it is the Ultimate Anno 1800 calculator that's also posted on this sub but that is far too complex for my modest cities.
