    Hi!

First of all, thanks to the mods for giving me permission to promote this!

One year ago, to the day, my little sister ended her life after well over a decade of fighting against her mental health, at the age of 26. Over ten years of going in and out of psychiatric care, with multiple suicide attempts per year and regular self harm and eventually also developing anorexia eventually became too much to bear.

We've seen a lot of the psychiatric care system here in Sweden, both the good and the bad. And around the world mental health is a growing problem. The trend is pointing the wrong way in most places, specifically among kids, teens and young adults.

Because of this, I feel I want to do something for the cause of Mental Health as well as something therapeutic for myself, which streaming is for me.

So to honor my sister's memory and do something for the cause, I've decided to hold a 12 hour long live stream with Strategy games.

This Saturday, February 26th, starting at 12:00 CEST and going until at least 23:59, I'll be streaming a bunch of great strategy games over on my YouTube channel; https://youtu.be/72I-1TDFlBo

During this stream I hope to raise some money for the Tim Bergling Foundation, founded by late artist Avicii's parents, in his memory. They fund mental health support organizations and research globally and their funding for example allows the Swedish support hotline for kids and young adults by BRIS (Children's Rights in Society) to be open 24/7.

    During the stream I'll be playing;

    • 12:00-13:45 Humankind
    • 14:00-15:45 Stellaris
    • 16:00-17:45 Europa Universalis 4
    • 18:00-19:45 Anno 1800
    • 20:00-21:45 Heroes of Might and Magic 3
    • 22:00-23:00 Hundred Days: Winemaking Simulator (and for this, I'll break out a bottle of wine)
    • 23:00-00:00 Dorfromantik

    And given away to viewers will be;

    • 5 copies of Hundred Days for Google Stadia donated by the developer Broken Arms Games
    • 1 copy of Anno 1800 Complete Edition for Ubisoft Connect donated by Ubisoft
    • 5 copies of Humankind for Steam donated by Amplitude
    • 1 copy of Imperator Rome for Steam
    • 1 copy of Surviving Mars Humble Bundle (base game and 9 DLCs) for Steam
    • 2 copies of Stellaris for GOG
    • 1 copy of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 for GOG

On the donation milestones 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750 and 1000 USD, I've pledged to eat Last Dab Reaper Edition hot sauce, much to my stomach's disapproval. Donations are handled through Tiltify; https://tiltify.com/@dadplaysgames/strategy-for-charity

    End Game Disasters PLS

    Posted: 23 Feb 2022 04:37 AM PST

Probably a bad idea, but wouldnt it be nice to have something to serve as an obstacle in the late game, 1800-1999 was a period of global happenings, kinda weird that there are benefits for docklands, tourism and highlife, all about globalization, but not the problems that come with it, eg, recessions and even epidemics, it feels fitting to have some kind of global encompassing disasters and some looming warning signs for an impending disaster,

    disasters like,

Recessions and depressions, that causes something like +50% maintenance cost, -50% production multiplicative, -50% workers cost(which kinda incentivises further expansion)

Anarchist/Worker Rebelions, that causes simply more riots, on top of production maluses, and demands for more than "humane" happiness and conditions, maybe even more consumption

X flu, which causes rampant outbreaks, and is transmittable by boat,

the disasters could even follow an economic boom with small bonuses, considering that after surviving that ordeal the players economy with now be twice as strong

    what do you guys think?

    Missing DLC

    Posted: 22 Feb 2022 12:21 PM PST

So I purchased the Humble Bundle pack "Anno 1800 Complete Edition Year 3" DLC pack yesterday to get caught up with the majority of the DLC after a long hiatus. Played it, all well and good and then turned off for the night.

Came back today and all the DLC is now missing on Ubisoft Connect and cloud saves are missing and everything.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

Freezing issues when reaching Age of Craftsmanship milestone?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2022 05:52 AM PST

Ubi tech support is no help so I figured I would ask here.

When I upgrade my first worker house to an artisan house, it triggers the "Age of Craftsmanship" milestone with the banner and sound. The game freezes for a few seconds, then unfreezes, then freezes again. Doesn't unfreeze, need to reboot my whole computer to fix it. This is a very consistent bug: I have tried it about 7 times and it freezes the exact same way everyt ime.

I've tried all of the standard advice: my computer meets the recommended requirements, I've dropped all settings to low, updated windows, updated my drivers, reinstall the game, etc. The only thing I haven't tried that I've seen recommended is disabling Uplay's autosave, but autosave has not been causing problems so far. I have 16 gb of ram, a good CPU and a GTX 1660 ti. I've played the game for dozens of hours with no problem, but that was about a year ago. I've only been playing a few hours since I reinstalled yesterday.

    Any ideas?
