Is it Cheating to play with no AI-Pirates? Posted: 31 May 2022 04:34 AM PDT My short story.I'm about 130h into the game with max population of 35.000 so far, after 3-4 restarts of the game. I'm now starting again my 5th try. My first tries, were with Vanilla Anno, but i decided i liked the game, and there was a discount going on, so i bought the first 3 Season Passes (not the 4rth however). My first tries were really tough. At first i thought i will restart the game, but even the 2nd-3rd try i decided that pirates were too much hassle to deal with, escort ships, trying all the time to declare ceasefire etc. I didn't like that micromanagment.I did manage eventually to deal with them, but my trade routes were really supercomplicated, i didn't know what material went were, so i decided to start all over, not only because of pirates but because i wasn't satisfied with the way it went. This was my "biggest" progress so far with scyscrappers level 5 at Crown Falls etc.Now my 4rth try, i had no pirates but only 2 AIs, George Smith was one of them. WHAT PAIN IN THE #@$@ was HE ?I mean i build a coal mine he started "MY FATHER DIED IN THAT MINE" and sh@t like that! boom my relationship with him went -5 down!I edited my NewsPaper, my relation was -5 down.EVERY SINGLE STEP I MADE my relationship went -5 down. Some things like museums etc made him happy, but i wasn't in the phase of building my museums atm.I tried my best to keep him cool, and nice, giving him gifts, asking quests etc but NO, he was mostly untouched! IT was a matter of time before he declared war on me. I tried building my army (i read that having a strong army prevents AI from declaring war) while trying to keep him satisfied but i couldn't, i didn't have enough time, when i realised he was close to declaring war (like 25-30 reputation) So i am doing a new (5th i believe) restart. This time without ANY AI or Pirates. Nothing, Just me in the whole world (and traders) Is this like cheating? I believe most people posting huge screenshots with populations of 2-3M etc, are playing like that? Thank you! Edit : Thanx guys. I will go on, when i reach like 1m population, and i get a deeper understanding of the game, i may then enable some AIs etc. Untill then i just wanna relax and not being competitive with everything around me. When are they patching this horrible Anno 1800 memory leak? Posted: 30 May 2022 10:12 PM PDT I'm crashing every ~1.5-2 hours of gameplay with an error that says: "ERROR - Out of Memory", text: "Oh noes :( The Application tried to allocate 2MB, but there is not enough free RAM left" I have 32GB of RAM and an RTX 3070ti. I have all the latest drivers, and I play lots of highly demanding games, but Anno 1800 is the one game that gives me problems. The crashes are absurd. None of the latest Total War or ArmA games do this, and I play those with multiple Chrome tabs + extensions running, + Spotify, + Discord. It's pretty ridiculous that people suggest this isn't an Anno 1800-specific memory leak, and it's crazy to see how many people are having this problem when you google it. I've monitored processes in the background and closed EVERYTHING but Anno + Steam + Ubi. Nothing uses very much RAM, but after ~1 or 1.5 hours of play, Anno starts using 90% of my RAM, with the rest of my system processes (Steam, etc) using another TOTAL 5%. That means when Anno eventually spikes to 95%, that puts me at 100% and my game + Steam + Ubi Connect all crash. I see posts all over the web about this dating back >1 year, and the responses are useless. "Buy more RAM." "It's probably Chrome/Firefox hogging your RAM." "Re-seat your RAM." etc. None of those are helpful. I also saw someone mention using Razer/other 3rd party software to either limit Anno's RAM access/usage, or boost RAM performance (lol) and of course none of those seem to work, according to the comments. This is getting to the point where I practically don't want to play this anymore. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 May 2022 03:10 AM PDT I live the anno games. Played them all. But after a while i want to built the most beautifull things and sometimes the game isn't that kind to me. Going bankrupt, being destroyed or its just nog good enough. With 1404 and 2070 a downloaded things called "trainers". With them running on the background i didn't have to worry about money or goods (produce 1 ton of something and the stock is full to 999 tons). Now i am at the same point in Anno 1800. I have't built everything in a normal game but it is to much ATM and i want a game with AI's but no worry's. Built the most extraordinary huge monumental capital and overall world. So, the shamefull question.... Is there something like that (mod or trainer) for Anno 1800? Is someone familiar with such a thing? What are the side affects, if there are any? [link] [comments]
