Feedback from a new Anno player

Would like to offer the following good and bad, in hopes that devs keep the good for the future titles and do something about the bad points. I am new to the game so if there are functions that are already there to address some of the problems, please let me know.

    What I liked:

    • The game made an incredible fist impression on me overall.
    • It looks gorgeous.
    • Music is amazing, love it.
    • Really like the narrator voice - "Game saved" never sounded so satisfying.
    • "You have been playing for two hours, how about a cup of coffee." - fantastic idea. In my view, every game should have something like this to prompt gamers to stretch their legs. It is pretty clear by now how bad sitting continuously for even 45 minutes is.

    What I didn't like:

    • I found the game to be frustrating in the late game, see below.
    • Ship management is particularly annoying. Combat is not implemented well (I am aware of the three ship modes) e.g.:
      • Ship follows a pirate ship. Once in range, IT STOPS and then shoots. Why on earth does it do that if it is perfectly capable of shooting on the move?!
      • At this point pirates are getting away/out of range.
      • My ship continues to follow them to try to get in range.
      • If I don't keep an eye on it, it will follow pirates to their base or elsewhere on the map (not shooting because pirates are out of range), where it gets destroyed.
    • Why can I not turn back the ships that are travelling between the worlds? Realism? This is a pain and there is a lot in this game already that is not realistic anyway.
    • Trade routes are a pain to manage, just constant problems with not enough/too many resources, lack of space etc. Too much micromanagement required.
    • Escorting ships between worlds does not work (bug), ships get stuck on the edge of the map.
    • No command queuing?
    • Paroling does not work properly. It should be implemented in a similar way to trade routes i.e. play/pause button if other commands are given to the ship. Now it patrolling route just disappears.
    • No proper tutorial.
    • UI - switching between new and old world should be just one click.
    • Is it really not possible to locate each factory by clicking on a button? I need to search on the map and click on each building to see what it is? Now, I do this in build mode as the icons appear above some of them. There should be on/off button for ALL of these icons.
    • Minimap size should be adjustable (unless this can be changed in options somewhere?)
    • No detailed statistics - although I am aware that this is coming in the update.
    • Games gets too repatriate later on - it just offers more and more production chains. It would be nice to see more of the projects like the world fair building, even in the earlier game. Also, replacing some of the product needs for something else would make the game more interesting. The Passage seems to offer heating. What about stuff like this in the old world e.g. street lights, plumbing, nearby parks etc. (I don't know, thinking aloud here).

    Anno 1800 Standard/Deluxe/Gold (29.99€ / 34.99€ / 47.49€ - 50% off) - Flash sale (till 02/12/2019 - 9 AM UTC)

FYI, you can also use the Ubi club points for an extra 20% off, giving: 23.99 / 27.99 / 37.99 even lower than the already historical low

It's pretty sad though that they don't discount the season pass too.

The Passage looks really nice. Can't wait to play it! I really hope that you don't have to start a new world to play it though..
