My mom is in love with Anno 1800

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 02:30 AM PST

So one day I decided to show my mom Anno 1800, just because I bought it recently. So I showed her it and she said she liked it, and that she will come over later. So she comes over later to play for 15 minutes, and we end up playing it till midnight. And now I was playing R6 and she asked if she could play Anno. So this is quite a weird experience for me, because she was never interested in video games. So yeah

Russian version doesn't support English text and audio. Fix?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 09:48 AM PST

I just bought the game from the Ubisoft Russia store not knowing this version of the game only supports Russian language. Anybody knows how I can add English text and audio so that I can play the game?

Anyone else having major FPS slowdowns in the Arctic?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 09:04 AM PST

My frame rate is fine in all the other world locations, but now that I'm exploring the Arctic scoping out land, the frame rate there is pretty bad.

    Would dx12 run better?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:28 AM PST

The game on my pc or my GFs Pc runs poorly once we get to later game in bigger cities. My rig is a Ryzen 1600x 16Gb ddr4 3000mhz 1660Ti so well above recommended. Hers is a 2700x with a 2060 super and 32gb ddr4 3200 Mhz and her fps is nearly the same as mine late game. Not sure if running in DX-12 would be a better option but 30 fps or lower is not good.

This one graphic option that boost my performance significantly

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:06 PM PST

Feeling frustrated that i lag pretty badly whenever i zoom out and look at my big city (roughly 9-10k population). Went to tweak around the graphic setting to find the best balance. Found that all these while, it was the view distance option that ate off the most fps. I was able to keep all others in max (2x AA). The only thing i notice is when i zoom out, the rendering off the buildings, terrain and citizen counts become lower, animals disappear. At least i'm able to play in consistent fps now consider that this will affect greatly in sunken expedition map (zoom in a bit if i actually want to enjoy the view with full render). Now I'm enjoying it more than before without having to consider upgrading my spec (for now).

    Specs:

    • Intel 4590 i5 processor
    • Nvidia GTX1080
    • 16GB DDR3

Botanica and The Passage DLC deactivated?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:19 PM PST

I started a new sandbox with all the dlc enabled, but when I saved and closed the game the Botanica and Passage DLC were not activated anymore.

Started a new game to make sure I didn't accidentally turned them off while setting the game up, settled my first island, saved and exited, reloaded, and the same thing happened. Only Sunken Treasures is activated anymore.

I use Spice it Up and Increased Production, but didn't have this issue in the past. Anyone have any idea how this is possible?

    Anyone else overwhelmed with 1800?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 02:37 PM PST

I really enjoyed 1404, but 1800 feels too complex. Between workforce requirement for each island and the multiple worlds, it just feels like work. Any tips for me to enjoy the game more?

    omfg these stupid ships...

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:26 PM PST

This game has TOO MUCH DAMN MICRO!!!!

It is hard enough building a city to spec without having to manually tell your ships not to sail right past fucking harbor guns!!

You can't send your ships anywhere or do anything with them unless you sit on top of them with the camera and pan along with them (the. entire. time. they. are. in. motion.) so they don't go in range of harbor guns! It's fucking stupid, unfun, broken, buggy and absolutely ridiculous.

Ships have captains. They should not be mindlessly incapable of going from A to B without killing themselves. Ubisoft needs to patch some behavior fixes in to this game like yesterday.
