Which Anno game is the most realistic? Posted: 25 Feb 2020 05:15 AM PST I prefer realism, for immersions sake.I havent played any of the Anno games, but i really like the aesthetics of the older ones, eg. 1503. But the question is, which one has the deepest simulated game mechanics, like economy, actually needing people to work the production buildings, needing to connect cities with roads, actual combat etc.The less "abstract" the game mechanics are, the better. I don't like my immersion relying on having to imagine for myself, how eg. goods are transported and other things like that. Also i really don't like restrictive features, unless they make sense. Which game has the best combination of game mechanics, or touches the most of the points mentioned above? When i say best, i mean the most "realistically simulated". Thanks in advance :)! PS: I do love games like dwarf fortress, but right now its missing major politics (and other really good stuff coming in the far future!), and i do like me some politics, for the immersion ya know ;) [link] [comments]
Can't see how I can make a co-op game in Anno 1800? Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:06 AM PST Hi all! Totally loving Anno 1800, been playing since about New Years I think. Anyway, I read today that there is supposedly the option of playing co-op (as opposed to multiplayer). I would love to play co-op with my friends, but I'm unsure how to set it up? I can't see any option for it in my game. I only have the normal version, no expansions or anything. Thanks :) [link] [comments]

Making Caoutchouc in the old world layout tactics Posted: 24 Feb 2020 07:21 PM PST Hi! I'm trying to make a self sufficient investor only island in the old world and I need caoutchouc production. Luckily, the park ranger item for charcoal kilns make caoutchouc but I can't seem to get the layout right to maximize the tiles and worker limit. So my calculations are: overwork +0.5, park ranger +0.3, bechamel converter+0.6, teutonic+0.4, electricity from oil power plant +1 =3.8x bechamel converter -50% worker force per charcoal kiln is 2/min. So 2*3.8=7.6/min 60 caoutchouc needed for 50k investors per island (for bicycles and steam carriages). Park ranger is 1 caoutchouc for every 5 cycles. So 300 total cycles needed. 300/6.8 = 40 full kilns. At 50% worker force that's 5 worker per charcoal kiln so 200 total workers. (just enough if you have the expansion influence bonus for +200 for each workforce) The oil powerplants also need to have their own trade union to get the worker requirement to 0. Has anybody done this before? I've also done calculations for chocolate but that's a problem for another time :D [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Feb 2020 03:46 PM PST I need help my guys. For some reason, with no win conditions set and no one buying shares in my islands, my sandbox playthrough is getting a defeat screen and sends me back to title screen. Even loading older game saves doesn't fix it. It's just an infinite loop of random defeat. Moments before I was doing an NPC quest and just started exploring the new dlc area. I'm so annoyed. It seems like a bug because why the hell is there a defeat screen in sandbox mode. I've not even had the chance to explore the new dlc stuff because of this and I can't really afford to spend time starting over as I'm on maternity and spend most of my day caring for my kid. So I'm hoping there's a fix for this so I don't have to start over. [link] [comments]
How to effectively use the calculators? Posted: 24 Feb 2020 03:05 PM PST Hello, I'm using DeathwingStudios calculator, and I'm curious what the best technique is. Do you guys plan out how many people of each tier you want on your island first, and then figure out production using the calculator? Or do you get a population going, and then figure out what they need? Like when do you actually put population numbers into the calculator? Or do you put resource amounts into it? This is all for early-midgame. I haven't made it to late game yet where I'm sure I'll be more willing to rearrange my islands/population/production to optimize things. Edit: this is for Anno 1800 [link] [comments]
Can I copy/paste a layout between regions? Posted: 24 Feb 2020 02:52 PM PST Is a bug or it's suppose to be impossible to copy and paste production layouts from the old world to Cape Trelawney? Is that I can do it in the same region in different islands, but when I copy a layout and change the region, tje layout is vanished. Sorry my English. 🙏 [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Feb 2020 01:43 PM PST Had a bit of a go at this game about 6 months ago but got bogged down in a petty war with ai and then gave it up. Thinking of having another go, only ever got up to just starting on engineers. So since this is a big endeavor would like to get the starting conditions nice.
