New World Obreros and their "revolution"?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 01:07 AM PDT

    Hey,

Many times when I click on an Obrero residence or workplace in the New World, they speak about the success of their revolution and independence. That is all well and good, but... They work day and night to provide luxuries for my Old World population and barely get anything back in return, they are under the direct control of an Old World leader (me) who also stations a sizable war fleet around their cities, and every riot and strike they might organize is dealt swiftly by the police I finance. I'd hate to break down the obrero chick's enthusiasm, but they are a colony with capital letters, light years away from indepence. So what do you guys think, are we the evil colonial overlords in this game? Because the Old World's relationship with the New World doesn't feel like an equal partnership, which is kind of accurate historically I guess.

Is there any option in the game to do a one-time delivery of goods/items between harbours?

    Help understanding Train Tracks

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 06:54 PM PDT

So I've reached Engineers for the first time in my save but now that I've started on Oil, I'm struggling to understand how the Train system works in Anno 1800.

I've read on some posts and guides but its gotten me a little more confused as to how it works because there seems to be multiple ways around it. For my main island, I decided to just have multiple parallel tracks going from the Harbour to all my power plants. But i run into some situations where they end up with the tracks being occupied. Not to mention that it makes my island look very messy with tracks going all over the place.

I then decided to try a loop system for my other island where it basically is just 1 big loop around the island with no parallel tracks of any sort. It seems to work better and aesthetically is more pleasing but it still ends up with congestion when some of the trains end up going in opposite directions.

Is there any good way to make it more seamless in its Oil transportation?

    Crash from mods then bugs.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 08:25 PM PDT

So I finally decided to use mods to build a beautiful city. For some reason every time I decide to build on the rear part of ditchwater my game would crash. So I decided to do clean install again and same thing happened. I decided to verify files through the uplay app and it removed all the mods leaving vacant lots on my city. I reinstalled the mods again, for some reason I can't rebuild my train stations on the same spot, and there's a railroad track that can't be demolished. Anyone experienced the same thing? or have a fix for me?

    Random Crashes When Trading?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 10:49 PM PDT

Has anyone recently experienced crashes when trading goods at port? This seems to happen to me when I've been playing for about an hour, then click on a ship, and click to trade with the port. It can be my own port, an oil harbor, or a NPC's port. I don't get any error message. The game just freezes then kicks me out to Windows.

I've recently updated my drivers for the BIOS, graphics card, WIFI, and bluetooth. The latest Windows update was causing a problem where my WIFI and bluetooth cards wouldn't be recognized after resuming from sleep.

TIL you can change buildings' productivity directly

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:39 PM PDT

I just wanted to post this because I've played the game for over 100 hours and I've only discovered this feature today.

Basically, there is two ways to access this menu: 1) click on the population tier icon in the middle top part of the screen when on any island 2) click a TINY TINY button in the left bottom corner of any building menu in the lower left corner of the screen (Next to where the productivity timer is)

There, you can adjust the productivity/happiness slider, and easily get +50% extra productivity for all(!!!) buildings on an island for some unhappiness
