- What i really love about Anno 1800 besides the amazing graphics, deep financial aspect, and the planning nature of the game are Ships. Since Ships are the only battle type we got for the game, i would kill for a Ship DLC. Add battleships, larger than cruisers, add submarines, add even more sail ship

Posted: 02 Jul 2020 03:12 AM PDT It seems to me that Anno 1800 has some inconsistency with its RAM usage. At first I thought it might be a graphics driver issue or even a faulty SSD but after doing diagnostics checks and updating all the drivers, I thought it might be due to RAM. I play it on 2 systems. 1 is a gaming laptop which is fairly new (i7-6700HQ, Nvidia 1060 GPU and 16GB RAM), and the other is an older gaming PC (i7-2600, Nvidia 970 GPU and 16GB RAM). However, I'm experiencing frequent crashes on the older PC. When I check the RAM usage, its about 90% or so usage when running. I haven't experienced any crashes on my laptop though. I'm gonna try increasing the RAM to 20GB (I have a spare 8gb RAM to swap out) and hopefully see if it solves the issue. Does anyone experience this problem as well with its RAM? Another Airship vs Cargo Ship test Posted: 01 Jul 2020 03:19 PM PDT I run two satellite islands that provide my main island with wood. They produce 48 wood in total, are located fairly close to the main island, and I made one airship to transport the wood, assuming that would be sufficient. It wasn't sufficient -- islands were outperforming airship's transporting capacity. So I built a cargo ship and boosted it with loading speed and movement speed items. It did much much better: with only five slots in use it was perfectly enough to transport all the wood from two donor islands. The difference is huge and the cargo ship is a clear winner in this scenario. Why so? According to my observations, airships take drastically more time to load/unload goods, which makes them terrible on short distance. So, if you ask me, I'd suggest using airships on ultra long routes where they can make advantage of their speed, that is especially good when crossing the ocean. In all other cases, use steamers. Posted: 01 Jul 2020 05:27 PM PDT I love the games atmosphere, but it is often ruined by the constant AI chatting such as the "Where did you say you come from? / Wash you fingers lads! / No accidents in weeks!" etc. They are so loud it ruins the sound experience.
