    [Mod] Spice it Up 3.0 "Safari" and Community GUID ranges

    As promised - "compability fix" for Update 9, the Land of Lions. Though some content has been added to make some more fire in the hype train's engine. Let's get started.

    Mods will now provide metadata inside a modinfo.json file. This is primarily for modmanager creators, who will get exact info on compability, unique ModIds, localized description texts, known issues, DLC dependency, etc. etc.Also, the entire thing includes a SpiceItUp.json, where all ModIds, Creators and Translators are listed. You can find documentation, sample modinfo.json and serializable C# classes over on this github repo:

    The repo also contains a list of GUID ranges used throughout the community, this was initially based off an idea by Lady Meridonia, thanks to her we could collect some data on which guid ranges where already used. To any modder out there, feel free to contribute your GUID ranges to the Repository and keep avoiding GUID duplicates.

    Now to the actual Update notes:

    REMOVED MODS

    • [Gameplay] More Items per Trader was removed
    • [Gameplay] NPC Dice Improved (No Legendaries) was removed
    • [Adjustments] Less Newspaper was removed

    The Devs in Mainz have actually adopted those three ideas and incorporated them into vanilla.

    • [Gameplay] Commuter Pier with Artisans was removed.

    NEW MODS

    [Gameplay] Legendary Seeds

    • Adds legendary seeds back into the game, they give 50% boost on production and can only be obtained at traders.

    [Gameplay] Unlimited Scholar Residences

    • Removes Build Permit System for Scholar residences and also removes the respective research.
    • This also applies to Harbour Scholar Residences.

    [Gameplay] Research Times

    • Changes the minimal possible research time to 1 minute with 50.000 engineer workforce.
    • Keep in mind that progression is still linear, investing the same absolute amount of engineer workforce will have less of a reduction than before. Only the maximum cap for research times is changed.

    Researching faster by investing up to 50k Engineer workforce

    [Gameplay] Unlimited Itemtrade

    • Removes the Limit of Items that can be bought from Traders. (well, unless you manage to buy 99999 items in 30 minutes.)

    [Gameplay] Commuter Pier for Enbesa

    • Adds a commuter pier to the Enbesan region, 2.5k Maintenance cost, unlocked with 1500 elders.

    New Commuter Pier for Enbesa

    UPDATED MODS

    [Addon] Harborlife

    • Added Harbor Scholar Residence
    • Added Harbour Radio Tower
    • Researching "Campus Extension Permit" Produces Permits that can used to build either of the Scholar Houses
    • Bugfix: Grand Trading Post and Grand Oil Harbor do not expand their Harbor Area anymore.
    • Bugfix: Building Harbor Investor Residences now correctly provides Influence
    • Bugfix: Technical changes to the way that keeps AI from building public service in the harbor area.

    [Gameplay] AI Itemtrade (previously 3rd Party Itemtrade)

    • Renamed to AI Itemtrade
    • All Item Offers can now be rerolled with doubled reroll cost (10k base, 10k increase per roll)
    • The number of items sold by AI is equal to neutral traders
    • The Limit of Items that can be bought was added to the AI as well, if you play with Land of Lions.

    [Gameplay] Nate's Airship

    • Bugfix: A bug was fixed that caused Nate's Airships to disappear or not being able to build it.
    • Bugfix: Removed an old text-to-speech line from Old Nate when clicking a ship.

    [Gameplay] NPC Dice Improved

    • Complete overhaul of the mod, due to the Itempools being changed again.
    • No item sources were changed, only the respective legendary pools are added to the traders.
    • Legendary Items become available once you gain 25.000 Inhabitants and at least 1.000 Investors (this is the new requirement for endgame since Patch 9)
    • Legendary Seeds were removed from the diceroll since they were outsourced into an own mod.

    Beryl o'Mara offering 12 items. Also, Unlimited Itemtrade is activated on that screenshot.

    [Gameplay] Buildable Great Eastern

    • Ship Stats were reset to Vanilla settings, because Vanilla now has the possibility for unlimited Great Easterns too. I am certainly not researching them one by one now, so the Specialist stays as is.
    • Rohit Bhargava's effect only applies to Steam Shipyards now.

    [Gameplay] Charter Clippers

    • Capacity of the rented clipper was increased from 150 to 200.
    • Maintenance cost was lowered to 400 credits

    [Gameplay] Commuter Pier Unlocked with Workers

    • Amount of Workers that is needed was increased to 750.
    • This change only applies to new savegames

    [Gameplay] Oil Pier

    • Added Enbesan Oil Pier, unlocked with 1 Elder.
    • Bugfix: A visual bug with the quay in the New World was fixed.

    JAVA-MODMANAGER

    I also have updated the Java Modmanager I wrote last year (I'm in pain, JSON and Java):

    • Mod enabling/disabling now works with a checkbox right next to the mod.
    • List can be navigated using Up/Down keys and Enter for enabling/disabling.
    • Added support for the new meta data
    • Restructured the entire right side to show description, known issues and DLC dependency.
    • Contact links can be clicked to contact the creator directly.

    This is the new/old Modmanager. Why you would use this if AMM exists tho kekw

    Request: Setting for "ship under attack" notifications

    Hello!

    In my games, I often get spammed by said notification. 95% of the time it's useless, as it's just a ship passing a frigate for an instant.

    I'd like to request a setting of "Minimum HP for attack notification: [50% / 75% / Always]"

    The notification would only activate if the attacked ship HP is below the specified threshold. This would eliminate spam but still keep the notifications firing when actual attacks happen. While this would delay notifications of actual attacks, it also means that I should definitely click and watch whenever a notification comes. Currently I don't even bother to check anymore, until a ship is lost.

    Please consider this improvement.

    Land of Lions Stand Alone

    So I bought the DLC's separate to make sure I liked them before fully committing to a season pass. I love the DLCs and wish I had gotten the season pass now at this point, but I didn't.

    I can't seem to purchase the Land of Lions DLC as a separate purchase outside of the Season Pass from uplay. Am I missing something?

    Can I ignore Cape Trelawney for a while?

    I started a new game the other day. I just unlocked the New World, Cape Trelawney, and now Land of Lions all around the same time. Is it going to hurt anything if I just leave Trelawney alone for a while, while I focus on other stuff?

    I play without AI btw.

    Cheesing influence bonus by queuing ships!

    I just realized you can cheese the influence bonuses by queuing ships, so that you e.g. get the military bonus, then you can cancel the construction queue when the bonus is not needed anymore...

    Might be doable for other influence types too.
