Next anno game should have multiple crown falls sized islands by default.

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 11:21 AM PDT

The freedom and space to use an actual large island is the difference between night and day. Smaller islands back in the day were needed to keep the system reqs down but they aren't needed anymore. in the next game the standard "large" island should be crown falls sized.

Anno 2070, endless DLC update reboot loop. Ubisoft says they are working "actively" on a solution, even though i've found threads 3 years old describing the same isuse.

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 04:28 AM PDT

So I just bought 2 copies of anno 2070 complete edition so I can play with my girlfriend. Installed it on 2 PCs which both have the endless DLC update loop. I of course googled the issue and tried the steps given from ubi themselves here

    Still doesnt work.

So I contacted ubisoft through chat, and they told me that there is no solution, and that they are "actively" working on it.

I have found threads as old as from 2017 that describes the same issues.

    "actively"

Wtf ubi. Guess I'll have to pirate it to play it, or maybe I'm lucky and they will have fixed the issue in 3 years time so I can finally enjoy it.

    Delete / ignore production overflow?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 10:48 AM PDT

    Hi,

im looking for a possibility to get rid of overproduction. There are items for a tradepost which let production buildings produce a different good every x cycle. E. g. i got an item which let my brick production produce steel from time to time. But if my brick storage runs full the steelproduction stops either (Same with wheat and whine).

Im currently having a tradeship which will dump bricks / wheat in the ocean at one of my other island. Feels like a workaround for me. Is there a feature which makes it possible without the use of a tradeship? Some "dump it" checkbox or something i simply dont see?

Expeditions to randomly generated new maps

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 05:50 AM PDT

I booted up Anno 1800 again and when I started my expeditons, I thought about this whole concept a bit. How cool would be, if we could do special 4 Skulls expedtions, that would discover new randomly generated (not seed based) small maps (maybe 3 Islands: 1 mid-large size, 1 mid size and 1 small size). In fact, let me propose a new DLC for the 3rd season which is all about expeditions:

    DLC-Name: The Great Expanse

Plot: After reaching 750 Artisans, the Player gets a notification from Nate, that he wishes to explore the world more and invites you to explore it with him. He asks you to choose a small fleet (3 Ships) and equip them for this voyage. After the expedition has started, you proceed as usual. There should be new scenarios for it. After 7-8 scenarios, you get to the newly explored small map. The first one will always be a "new world" type of map and you will spawn directly in front of an Island. ALL other generated maps are undiscovered. Nate will tell you, that you should go explore the island and build a small outpost (The population will be a new one, which needs are based on the type of map). After you reached a certain amount, Nate will ask you to build the main focus of this DLC.

The Main Focus: The Explorers Guild:
The Explorers Guild is a building/monument that has to be build over 30 minutes and requires Wood, Bricks and Population of the 2nd level to build. The requirements are so low, because you will have to do this over and over again ( I will explain later ). After it is done, the building will be similar to the Palace. You will have 3 tabs which will be represented as an Explorer. Everyone one of these can be given a role. There are 3 Roles: archaeologist, Trapper and Botanist (if you have the DLC). This is important, because every island has 3 ressource nodes, that can be used to build outposts. What kind of outpost, is depended on which explorer you select (think of a museum/zoo plot). Each Ressource node can generate 3 items over 30 minutes each. After 3 items are generated, the ressource nodes becomes depleted and can be demolished to make room for normal buildings. The quality of the items, will depend on how many ressources you gave them (think of a small exhibition), BUT the last item will always be one from the new sets. After the first outpost is depleted, Nate will notify you, that there are no more items go gain and that you should settle on another Island. This time, you wont have to build another Explorers Guild, but you are still limited to 3 Explorers. This is for balancing and preventing from gaining to many items to fast. After reaching a certain amount of people on the 2nd Island, the 2nd part of the story starts.

2nd Plot: Nate will tell you, that the Expedition is doing good, but he wonders if there are more spots like these around the world. He will give you a choice: continue to explore in this region or go on to explore another region. After you finished the 2nd Expedition scenarios, the you will get another region, which is a mix of old world and arctic. You wont have to deal with the cold, but it should be like a tundra. This will be pretty much the same as the first generated map, with the exception, that this time, There is another faction there: A new unfriendly AI. This AI is similar to the one from the DLC "Sunken Treasures", but will actually combat you and has already claimed one of these islands. After you defeated him and depleted your first node in this region, the story of this DLC is finished and Nate will say, that there are probably more regions like this and if you want to explore more, you just have to let him know.

Endgame: Now we get to the real kicker. After you have finished the story, you can leave the explored regions, at ANY time you want. This will delete the generated map and lets you explore a new one. There should be a limit of 2 of these regions, but you shouldnt be locked down into 1 new world and 1 old world type of map. This should be random OR you could be a way to pre-select which type of map it will be, by buying maps from Nate. This will not only give us something to do in the endgame, but will also give us another way of earning items for our museums and zoos if we dont want to spam exhibitons or salvager quests. It would also allow us, to get more islands to exploit.

    Gimmicks:
Each time we discover a new map, there is a chance to find a vessel of an AI. If you click on it, the AI will ask you, if you know a place to settle. If you say yes and there is at least 1 island in the old world that is not claimed, it will allow the AI to settle in your savegame. This could solve the request, many players have, to have an immersive AI Shipyard.

    Multiplayer session:

Every player has to agree or will have to be fought of the map.

What do you think about this DLC Idea? I know that the devs cannot make infinite DLCs and I would guess, that after 2nd season, there wont be another DLC. But I really love to make this DLC Ideas and I hope, that I can give the devs some good ideas for DLCs or at least ideas for the new games.

Epic Launcher won't launch Anno 1800 (fixed)

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 06:30 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

Since 2020/05/16, when I've purchased this game via Epic Store, I have NOT played the game once due to the issue of it not launching.

So, for a long time I've been scouring the webs in order to try and fix the issue where you "download" Anno 1800 via Epic Store Launcher, but then, as you launch the game it only changes momentarely to [> Running] and then resumes to [> Launch] state, happening nothing.

On Windows Task Manager you get to see "Uplay launcher (32 bit)" app launching and closing almost immediately.

And yes, I've googled and used a lot of combinations for finding how to solve this issue, read alot of posts and viewed several videos, and yet, none suggested how to fix this issue as I'm doing...

In order to fix this issue, please ignore the default link created by Epic Store Launcher linking to "com.epicgames.launcher://apps/Oregano?action=launch".

If you didn't altered any installation paths for Epic and Anno, you should be able to find the file that WILL download the 30+ GB and install the game, here:"C:\Program Files\Epic Games\ANNO1800\Bin\Win64\Anno1800.exe"

Run that file, after creating a New > Shortcut pointing to that path... I suggest.

... and since I've read trolls trolling on other posts questioning:- Why did I purchased the game via Epic Store if you can buy via UPlay?I disclose it was because of freaking discounts: I payed for the €60 game only €20.
🖕 So, up yours trolls! 🖕

I hope if you ever get this issue, this will serve you good.

    Cheers from Portugal,
    José Encarnação

Need help with The Thing quest (The Arctic)

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 05:40 AM PDT

After you get the quest and you head up north and receive the note which details which way the party went, where the frick did they go too?

I must've been across the map a dozen times and I still can't find it.

Is this a known bug or am I missing something obvious?

(i vaguely remember finishing the quest on my very first play through but details are hazy)

Productions with altered input can receive goods from warehouse only?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 04:49 AM PDT

Hi everyone! An easy discussion about good delivering after Trade Union modifiers.

At the moment, if I use Trade Union items to alter the input of a certain factory, that good will be necessarily taken from the nearest warehouse, totally ignoring if it is being produced in range. More precisely, it is the lower-step production factory which doesn't deliver goods to altered-intput factories. Example: Lumberjack's Huts won't deliver wood to Spectacle Factories with Gerhard Fuchs equipped, and send it to the closest warehouse instead.

I am aware that it would be a minor feature, but it would help some endgame situations, optimizing warehouses.

Does anyone agree with me, or am I being excessively maniacal? =)

Does anyone know how to edit Anoo 1800 save files?

    Posted: 19 Aug 2020 05:29 PM PDT

Me and a friend bought the DLC and were wondering if there are any ways to enable it in our ongoing game, as the migration feature doesn't seem to work for multiplayer games. Just wondering if there are any tricky save file manipulations tactics anyone is aware of that could help.

There needs to be an option to pause the game, while still playing, like SimCity and Cities: Skylines.

    Posted: 19 Aug 2020 03:10 PM PDT

There are two pause buttons on the screen, one next to the game speed buttons, and one at the top right of the screen. The pause button by the game speed buttons make no sense, it pauses like the game like the button at the top left, just without the pause menu. I think the button next to the speed buttons should pause the game world, while still allowing you to build, manage menus, etc.

FIX: No text when launching game (Deep Ocean)

    Posted: 19 Aug 2020 04:58 PM PDT

Many users have reported an issue where, when launching the game with the Deep Ocean expansion enabled, none of the in-game text UI elements will display. I found a working solution (courtesy of u/Renzolol) buried in the comments of some other posts, but it still seems many users couldn't find it so I'm posting here for Google.

Follow these steps, with the Deep Ocean expansion enabled.

    1. Download the version of AutoPatcher.exe listed here: https://uk.gamesplanet.com/community/anno-2070-uplay--1451-1/discussions/80083-how-to-stop-the-infinite-reboot-loop/80109-comment - I recommend the one that's "3MB download, 10MB expanded," it worked for me. If this doesn't give you results try the other one.
    2. Extract AutoPatcher.exe to your install directory. This will replace the original file.
    3. Run AutoPatcher.exe and launch the game. The issue should be corrected.

If this does not work, or you have questions or information, please comment.

    • Update: While this fixed the issue, on subsequent launches, UPlay asked me to link the game to my account, and said the key was invalid. This prevented me from launching the game entirely. Verifying Integrity through steam resolved this for me.
