I'm an arctic scientist, and I couldn't help but notice he similarities between the Passage DLC intro, and Franklin's lost expedition.

In the game, lady Jane Faithful looks for her husband, John Faithful, lost for three years in the arctic. Replace Faithful with Franklin, and the story remains true.

In the game, Faithful's ships were called Styx and Hades. Franklins ships were Erebus and Terror. Both Faithful and Franklins's ships are named for similar themes from Greek Mythology.

Later in the campaign, you find a stone cairn with a note, along with 3 dead crew members. This is also the case with the Franklin expedition the note is now in the Royal Maritime Museum. In fact, the coordinates, date of the note/cairn are identical in reality and game. 28th of May, 1847 70° 05 N, 98° 23' W.

Finally, the camp in-game is found at King William Sound. While the real expedition was lost forever, the shipwrecks were discovered in 2014 and 2016, off the coast of King William Island.

Not interesting to most, but this is a story that is near and dear to me. As an arctic researcher, I keep a painting of the lost ships on my wall as a reminder.

Hey Yall!

Wanted to share my first game ever in the Anno series where everything is going smoothly! I've played 1503 and 1701, and loved them albeit the steep learning curve really had me strugglin haha!

I check in on the thread often and have learned so many things from yall that helped me get to this point. Thank you for the endless tips. I'm still trying to get coffee and catchitolous(sp?) so wish me luck on that.

Very excited for Land of Lions!
