New player poking my head in to say hello...

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 07:28 AM PDT

Funny story... A couple of nights ago I subscribed to Ubisoft+ to play the new Watch Dogs Legion game, and while I was waiting for the game to be released, I decided to load up Anno and sniff around a bit. Well, a little over 48hrs later, I've barely played Legion at all, and spent a couple of rather long, addictive sessions playing Anno... wow!!

Kudos to the devs on this well-done game... I'm super glad to have stumbled upon it and this community. Cheers!

    DLC idea: advanced distribution buildings

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 03:59 PM PDT

Since smaller DLCs like Bright Harvest are still kinda possible i have been thinking about some neat content that would be interesting both mechanically and visually.

Distribution buildings would be cafés and such, where people would satisfy their needs more efficiently. For example, in cafés, investors would satisfy their coffee and chocolate needs and instead of 1 ton of each they would only need ,5 of each. Maybe, at the same time these cafés would need sugar and flour as well to simulate how investors are happier with sweetened coffee and chocolate cake than black coffee and pure chocolate.

Other ideas include clothing stores, delis/restaurants, wine dealers, household appliance stores for light bulbs and sewing machines, jewelers and pennyfarthings/motorist clubs or a mechanic (you need fewer cars if you apply oil to them every now and then, they last longer that way! :D).

Those would be visually interesting and would also make it possible to make certain sessions more relevant than they are now, for example the clothing store could use hats and parkas (remember the Arctic?!) and restaurants would use food that is foreign to people in that session (lets see how those Obreras like reindeer, why dont we?!).

Is there a way to convert a single player game into a multiplayer one?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 09:22 AM PDT

    Hello everyone,

A friend of me (on a different continent) has a single player game in ANNO 1800 and needs help. Hence I was wondering if it is possible to load their single player game in co-op mode, so that I can take a better look at their game and help improve it.

I don't think it's possible, but think this would be a really cool application of co-op mode.

We tried screen-sharing, but there are delays and telling them what to do via verbal/written instructions is just a lot of work.

    Have a great day

Help: Anno 1800 ship trading routes, trough cannon range

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 09:09 AM PDT

So I was playing with a friend of mine. We had a lot of fun. However when I entered war with a AI nothing was a problem. But my fcking ships keep sailing trough cannon fire from the island. If they would just sail 3m trough the right they would have not get hit by those cannons. I lost almost all my new world trading routers because of it. Really salty about it, because i cant grab the line and just slide it 2m trough the right so that the ships just keep sailing without a problem.

Is there a solution for this. just stopped playing because of it.

The next Anno, what do you expect?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 07:45 AM PDT

So, Anno 1800 is finished, it's Complete Edition/Königsedition has been released. What do you expect from the next Anno Game? Will it be in the far future, picking up after 2205 or will it be another game before 2000? I'm curious on what you think about this.

    Riot mechanics question

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 07:14 AM PDT

How exactly does rioting work with townhall modifiers and extra population?

With enough islands you get a certain ammount of free workforce per island without any actual population. Can this ghost population riot or can i safely ramp the productivity of all goods on such an island to +50% of everything?

And if i stack all my housing of a certain population class into townhall range and modify their riot chance to -100% does that mean i can ramp the productivity on all islands with the shared workpool to +100% without riot chances?

Also can factories which employ 0 workforce riot?

Lost Crown Falls and its quest as a result - Does it matter?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:06 PM PDT

So I dragged my feet and let Vicente Silva take an undeveloped Crown Falls, which meant I lost the quest as well. Looking around online it seems to mean that I can never pick the quest up where I left off, so I'm wondering if there is any major downside?

I still have a lot of rebuilding to do in the New World so it would be nice to know if I'm missing anything vital from completing the quest.

    Thanks!

Do you guys play your saved games at all?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 01:39 AM PDT

I usually try to finish a game in a Session like 12 hours but tend to save anyways but always start a New game every time I log in.

I forget where I was a week later and just think its not enjoyable to load my City...

    Automatically dump excess production?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 12:42 AM PDT

I have a bakery chained that is hooked up to a trding union so that it can produce chocolate through Fine Cake Decorator and Marie-Antoine, Pâtissier Royale.

The thing is, once I hit the stock limit on bread, chocholate also stops being produced. Is there any way I can automatically dump the bread (I need it but I need the chocolate more)?

Setting bread on sale is the only obvious solution I could find, but NPC don't buy enough that it's a viable solution. I could also set a trading route to autosell bread to a NPC, but it's hard to fine tune sales this way. Also setting an minimum stock limit doesn't help because by doing this, you also prevent your trading ships from picking up bread.

I am not sure this can be easily achieved :(

Archibald Not Showing Up in Enbesa?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 02:26 PM PDT

So, I seem to be struck by that bug where Archibald just never shows up. Is there a specific number of elders you need to hit before he appears? I got the other islands to Ketema, but no sign of Archibald which I think is locking me out of scholars and hence the entire reason for the DLC. Anyone managed to fix this or should I just write off the savegame?

Anno 1800 crashing at launch after update?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 11:28 PM PDT

Since the update anno 1800 opens to a black screen then boots back to the desktop. I'm unable to play the game. Searching through the forms I've seen this happen before to people but I'm not sure the solution. Any ideas?
