Is there a mod to prevent the AI from expanding into a different region before you do?

As per title. I just find it infuriating that when you move into a region as part of the campaign storyline (especially the DLC regions with their own storylines) any >1 star AI will almost certainly be there before you. That and it makes me feel that I have to drop everything and rush into a new region the moment it becomes available, which I'm finding annoying...

    Arctic tips

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 10:59 AM PST

Some tips for the arctic. The first one might be new for some:

    1. It used to be impossible to dump items you got from golden loot boxes from an Airship right away. You had to fly over water first. Now with Enbesa you can just donate the item to get rid of it.

    2. The inuit trader sells most of the raw material you need to provide for enough population to get all the gas. You don't need any Huskies, bears, pemmican, ... I built all the production buildings on the plateaus. This saves me the space for the workforce on the normal islands.

    3. If you use clipping for the gas, there is 3 distinct orientations for two lodges to share a common point in their radii:. In one line with the grid, about 30 degrees, about 60 degrees. Build two lodges with a gas mine in the middle for each of these and then use the copy tool and rotate to try out all possible layouts. You can get almost all the gas mines in the influence of two lodges each.

    4. For easy scrap farming without needing 100 airships, I have 4 airships on control groups 6 to 9 and then one on 0. I then send the 4 airships in one line and use only the last one to collect the scrap by using shift+click (adding a waypoint). This way I have only one with all the scrap, I can just let the 4 ships reveal the map and not always diverge from their path. I go one time around counter-clockwise and get almost all the hidden area.

Hope this helps some of you that also find the arctic tedious.

    Rushing investissors

    Hey guys !
I share my try at rushing the investissors' tier. I would enjoy getting the time of those who already thought doing this ! And maybe some of you will also try this rush !
    My times :
    - workers : around 10/15 min
    - artisans : 45min
    - engineers : 2h10min
    - investissors : 3h25min7sec
Good game everybody :) (sorry for my english, that's not my native langage)

Coming back to Anno 1800 since the original release: Should i restart the campaign all over?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 09:45 AM PST

Hello guys! A quick and simple question:

I finished the campaign in the original release of Anno 1800. Very good hours played in this game.

And since the original release, i bought all DLCs with the Season Pass, but never played again. The game took so much improvement from the original release, it's really seem that is a brand new and developed game (some Paradox feelings here).

And now, I'm hearing the Season Pass 3 is going to go out this year. That's great news! Ubi is really showing how it's done.

Now, my question is: should i restart the campaign all over again or my save is going to work with all this new content?

Is playing against AI worth it? (vs playing solo)

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 09:21 AM PST

Hey, I started my second playthrough today, got into war with a 3* AI, and while it's easy to destroy his trade routes with 4 frigates, taking his cities seems to require at least 10-15 SotL (from what I've read on this reddit) since I don't have access to steam yet. Moreover, this combat system seems to rely only on brute strength and very little strategy. It's just comparing my strength number with his. Coming from 1404 which had decent combat, it doesn't seem very rewarding.

So the question is: if peaceful AI doesn't really do anything except claiming islands that I want, and war with AI is a boring grind, why would I have AI at all? do they provide something that I'm missing? I always play with pirates on hard difficulty, because naval combat is a cool part of any Anno game. What do you think I would lose out on if I played a game without AI players?

Issue with Excavation site, not duplicate with other player's issue

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 02:01 AM PST

Hi All, I am playing Anno 1800 for the first time. I am not able to start the excavation. I followed other players having the same problem. I created a warehouse just next to the excavation site and I have the necessary resources. Still, my workforce says 0/20 when I click on the excavation site.

    Enbesa - Perfect Ending?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 03:15 PM PST

    Hi Everyone!

    Possible spoilers for Enbesa ending

So I finally almost finished the Enbesa questline. I'm in the final negotiations. I have a big population, and all of Enbesa is united. However I did not side with Archie whenever it was possible. And I see that there is a choice for this. Is there some big drawback for this? This would mean 6 hours of playtime lost, to go back to an earlier save.

On the wiki I saw there I can miss this person: Rear Admiral Richard B. Sharpe, The Eagle-Eyed Can I get him with research though? Is there anything else I'm missing?
