Are there any beauty builder’s out there that have a video tour of their islands? Posted: 18 May 2021 09:24 AM PDT I've watched quite a few let's plays and tutorials on YouTube but I couldn't find any simple tours from players. Specifically beauty builders. Are there any members of the community that have posted their own videos showing off their cities and farms? I'd love any links if you have them! [link] [comments]

The similarities between Anno 1800 and Patrician III Posted: 18 May 2021 12:36 PM PDT I don't know if any on this sub ever played Patrician III (there was Patrician II and IV as well). It was a trading and economic simulation game released around 2002-03. I find that Anno 1800 has many similarities with Patrician III. It involved trading using ships (had multiple ship types). Ships could be modified to have canons installed. Routes could be automated or manually managed. Auto traded routes needed curing over time to adjust to the changes in the population. Different Towns had different "fertilities" and production expertise for things like Beer and Bricks and Grain and Lumber, etc. A player started as a fledgling trader with a tiny ship and would compete against other AI traders. Supplying needed goods to your home town would grow it. Over time it would become more populous. However, in the absence of it towns would shrink and famine and disease would set in. One had to build hospitals, schools, chapels to improve the health and education of town inhabitants. However, trading was the key since no town had all the necessary goods needed for growth. With additional money, the player would order the construction of newer, better and faster ships. Late stage, a player could have ships on construction queue of multiple shipyards (one shipyard per town only). The human player would gain wealth and reputation (Influence in Anno 1800) over time (time was in the form of days, months years). After each increase in reputation a player would be permitted to open additional trading offices, and could build larger and better armed ships. A player could then open industrial and agricultural businesses to supply raw materials such as grain, timber, pig iron, or wool and finished goods such as pottery, iron goods, clothes, or beer. There are a series of ranks which the players attained through wealth and popularity. In addition to the player's ships, competitors ships and PIRATES roamed the oceans. The player could turn to the dark side by raising the pirate flag on his own ship (think using the black or red pirate flag in Anno 1800). A successful player with lots of ships and experienced captains could devote a few ships to expeditions. Expeditions could be to the Mediterranean region for hard to obtain luxury goods such as spices and to the New World area for selling beer for gold. There are three population tiers in Patrician III and obviously having more of the top tier generated more wealth (if you provided housing for them by building the houses needed for the top population tier). I haven't played Patrician III in probably over 5-6 years, have it on an old Steam Account. Saw it last night and thought about it a bit and realized that there are so many similarities between the two games. Wondering if anyone else who played P3 back then feels the same. Anno 1800 is far more advanced and challenging, however, Patrician III was a fun game when I played it over 15 years ago. [link] [comments]
Do you think this game will be updated after High Life & the completion of Season Pass 3? Posted: 18 May 2021 02:15 AM PDT Maybe its just me, but with the addition of an improved tourist system and skyscrapers, I think the game will feel finished (the only thing I truly wanted after season pass 2 were high-rise buildings, so that itch will be scratched soon). The game feels pretty complete and polished already even right now, so while I wouldn't be against further updates and additions after Pass 3, I'll definitely have no hard feelings if Ubisoft decides to move on from Anno 1800. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments]

More large landmasses like Cape Trelawyny Posted: 18 May 2021 07:20 AM PDT I love the cape. Its my favorite place to build. It gets dull having the same island every time. I wish we had access to more gigantic islands like that with tons of build space, just more variety. [link] [comments]

Just got Anno 2205 with all the fixin's, should I play it or 2070 with all the fixins? Posted: 18 May 2021 08:06 AM PDT Reviews were generally better for 2070 on release than they were for 2205. But after all expansions have been applied, I don't know what opinions are about that--did 2205 get better than 2070 or is 2070 still generally better? I'm hoping to get a complete edition of 1800 sometime but I'm waiting for a sale. How often would you say it does go on sale? (I can get 1800 vanilla 50% right now but all the expansions can only be had full price AFAICT.) [link] [comments]
