AI obsessed with conquering Enbesa? Posted: 05 May 2021 01:36 AM PDT I am playing a game against Hunt, Alonso and Beryl. After unlocking Enbesa, I found most islands to have been settled by the AI already. Nothing surprising so far. However, once war broke out between Beryl and Hunt, Hunt devoted 2/3 of her fleet to squashing all her opponents islands in Africa, even though none of them had anything more than a couple of tier 1 houses , often no buildings at all. A few hours later (Hunt had declared war on me and was consequently driven from most of her islands in the NW and OW), Alonso did the same. He declared war on me and Beryl and conquered every single island in Africa with 4 Battlecruisers and 5-6 frigates/ SotL. Then he just stayed and patroled the map, without bringing this overwhelming firepower into the other sessions, where I was frantically upgrading my fleet to even have a chance against this armada. 20h into the game, no player has developed an island in Ebesa beyond 50 herders, and the AI wastes the brunt of their potential on conquering and defending literally empty deserts. Why? And how do I lure Alonso back into the real game? Edit: Also, I feel bad about winning all my wars because my superior opponents keep their fleets on holiday in Enbesa. Hunt even lost her main Island due to her silly Enbesa campaign. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 11:36 AM PDT My game updated Anno 1800 with a 1.5gb patch. Since then Spice it up mod has not worked. When I load into the game it seems the Spice it up mod things aren't working. Anyone else receive a patch today? [link] [comments]

Mod for saving blueprint groups? Posted: 05 May 2021 07:09 AM PDT Is there any mods that let you save the copy/paste pattern for Anno 1800? I really find it tedious laying out pig and sheep farms, would absolutely love to save that pattern so i don't need to to it every game. Bonus if it can add cut/paste too instead of just copy/paste [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 May 2021 12:15 AM PDT Hello. Just got this game yesterday and I'm wondering about what DLCs are worth my consideration. I'm hopping over to this game from a background of Paradox Interactive games which tend to have dozens of DLCs, some which are more important than others, and I've a feeling this game may have a similar model. Any advice for a new boat boye such as myself? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 04:51 AM PDT Am i misunderstanding something or is there no actual city layouts for anno1800 on http://www.annolayouts.de? They have insanely efficient production layouts, so i'm wondering if their city layouts would be as good. But i can't find them. I know about the wiki, but i don't think the city layouts there are too good. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 08:32 AM PDT Started an Anarchist playthrough recently with the default config AI (Bente Jorgensen, Carl Leonard von Malching and Dr. Hugo Mercier). Everything was going alright, but focusing on Hugo, I ended up losing favour with Carl. Obviously this meant he had the audacity to declare war on me and initially I didn't have money to keep gifting him or paying his ransoms to improve diplomacy so I had to take over the islands so he would ask for peace / cease fires. This basically meant I kicked him out of the Old World reasonably early on (2 star AI was just getting to Engineers). Now post investors, money isn't an issue but I want him to come back to the old world, but whenever I release islands Hugo or Bente keep taking over them but they're usually sitting idle for a long time (and I keep saying no to Bente). I know the AI once defeated across all regions is out of the game and can't be brought back in vanilla. Does this apply to a region however? Anyone have any insight on this? Edit: Should also point out his presence in the other regions is quite large. He owns most of the islands in Cape Trelawney and Enbesa. New World, he's even with me, haven't explored Artic yet since they all have to wait for me. [link] [comments]
