If you ever feel overwhelmed by some of the new production chains: Remember the Blue Sky Delivery Service!

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 07:01 AM PDT

It's an Epic Town Hall item that provides skyscrapers (with access to dept. stores, furniture stores, and drugstores) with chewing gum, billiard tables, and violins. You can research the item if you have the Institute or he can show up at the public mooring so far I've found.

So if you'd rather not deal with all the chains for making those items or you want to use them as training wheels to fill those needs til you finish making your production line go for it!

    Shopping Arcades inconsistency???????

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 11:55 AM PDT

I do not know if it has already been said, but by chance I have found a mechanic of the Shopping Arcades that does not make sense.

Operating normally, the Shopping Arcade produces (actually consumes) one item every minute (for example, a toaster). But if, for whatever reason, there are not enough artisans on your island, production slows down. This does not affect anything, because the effect is still in effect in the surrounding buildings, since the Shopping Arcade is still active (or at least there is no penalty indication). However, as production slows down, it simply consumes resources more slowly, which is an advantage.

How can the lack of operators in the Shopping Arcade produce an advantage over normal operation?

How to easily determine production chain efficiency and number of needed buildings in Anno 1800 in three intuitive steps

How to easily determine production chain efficiency and number of needed buildings in Anno 1800 in three intuitive steps

If you play Anno 1800 to some extent, you will probably arrive at the point where you're starting to build a massive production chain with different buildings, different efficiencies, and different production times. Especially when electricity and Trade Union items come into play, you quickly cant wrap your head around how many supplying buildings you need to support the final production, etc.

To mitigate this, my two brain cells came up with a very easy idea: the "Total production efficiency per minute", and it's very intuitive. It goes as follows:

    1. Building Efficiency: Take the maximum efficiency of the final building in the production chain, including all items and electricity.
    2. Building Efficiency per Minute: Multiply the "Building Efficiency" by the number of production cycles per minute: if the production time at base efficiency (100%) is 00:30, multiply it by two. If it's 01:00, multiply it by 1, and if it's 01:30, multiply it by 2/3.
    3. Total Building Efficiency per Minute: Multiply the previous number by the number of buildings you are building. If not all buildings share the same efficiency, do steps 1 and 2 with the different efficiencies and then simply add both "Building Efficiency per Minute".

You now have the efficiency of a "single combined" building, as if all production buildings were merged into one, and the production time of this building is always one minute. Taking this number, you can do the same three steps for supplying production buildings. If the total efficiency per minute of the supplying production buildings is higher than this of the final production building, your supply chain is stable.

    Example: Gramophone Factory

    With supplying building: Brass Smeltery

Hope this helped some of you, I always struggled with this!

I have a hard time making a nice-looking harbor because the quay streets always get automatically placed and then mix with the stone streets...

How do you guys manage this issue?

Game bugs? Flickers and Game wont progress (Campaign)

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 10:25 AM PDT

Does anyone have similar experience? I encounter 3 bugs currently.

    1. Everytime I unlocked a building, the said building in the catalogue flickers rapidly until u clicked on them. Minor bug but quite annoying for me eyes.

    2. I'm stuck at the story progress where mobs lead by my cousin does not appear in Bright Sands.

    3. I am not able to deliver what Edvard ask for (Snapps) despite having abudance of stocks of what he demanded in the trading post.

    Anyone else face this problem?

I created a new game and verified my files but results still the same.

    Campaign Bug

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 12:08 AM PDT

I returned after almost a year to try the new expansion and I wanted to play the campaign again to refresh my memory. But I am stuck with the schnapps part early in the game. I have zero mods, verified the game, and updated everything. Restarted the game and all but still no matter how many new starts, reloads, and everything, even if I have more than 70t of it, the quest just won't get finished. This never happened to me last year and even then, I have hundreds of mods installed. Can someone assist? Thanks in advance!

    High Life not in game

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 08:21 AM PDT

Yesterday I was playing on my late game save and I was messing around with the skyscrapers, elevators, chewing gum all that stuff. Today I launched uplay and Anno 1800 downloaded a small update, when the game launched the menu was just completely blank, there were no buttons for anything, even when I hit Alt + F4 it gave me 2 empty boxes to click through, and now after verifying the files the game doesn't even detect the dlc even though I own the season pass and it's listed in my owned products

Has anyone had this when starting a new campaign?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 06:59 AM PDT

I've recently fired up a new Campaign for a fresh start. This is the first time I've encountered this issue.

What looks to be happening is the fog isn't lifting at all?
I've tried it with 0 - 3 AI and it looks like it can be reproduced reliably except for when having only one AI. 2 and 3 AI are a bit hit and miss but they mostly work.

Despite the fog you can still place buildings and roads however I can't seem to find the warehouse, clicking on the quest icon to zoom to the location of the quest area works but the area is entirely concealed.
