    An Option for the Harbor Master building to have a log-book of active trading routes

    As my city's and island worlds get bigger and bigger I find it increasingly difficult to keep track of all my routes. I have multiple islands where I have congested routes with multiple stops. I think it would be a nice feature if instead of scrolling through the endless list of routes, when inside the Harbor Master building it would display which routes are active to that harbor exclusively. Does anyone else feel this might be a nice upgrade ?

    Which Anno gamer are you?

    Can I just say what an amazing game Ubisoft has achieved with Anno 1800. The complexity, beauty and depth the devs has put into it. The way I see it, there are three distinct type of gamers in the Anno community:

    1. Beauty Builders: Beauty Builders usually play on easy settings with or without pirates, trying to create the best looking cities, fulfilling only the basic needs with no regard to product, output or competitor AI. A lot of cosmetic / mods / beautification are used. The palace could take up 10x the actual space required.
    2. Efficient Builders: Efficient Builders will calculate the best output per land ratio, putting in meta specialists and items in town halls, trade unions and etc. I've even seen such things as overlapping two trade unions for a single production building???? Some efficient builders will try to max out the population on every single island to millions. Cities are often very structured, repetitive, ugly, town halls placed equidistant to each other to maximize coverage.
    3. Competitive Players: The competition side of anno is to destroy your AI / human enemies on the hardest settings, advancing quickly through the ages to get access to resources and better ships. Efficiency is important, but like other real time games, being quick and build orders are critical.

    MOD / DLC request : a comestic winter mode for the old world

    I was thinking it would be incredible to enable a wintermode on a session where trees lose their leaves, the snow and roads are white, you get snow storm etc. it would look beautiful and the christmas market would not feel out of place !

    Any mods to change the default cargo ship model (not skin) to something more realistic?

    I never liked the default cargo ship model in the game, it looks too much like a modern containership. Cargo steamers in the 19th century were more like these ships with the smokestacks centered in the middle and often with additional sails. I didn't find any mods that would change the model but maybe I was not looking hard enough!

    Island takeover with shares - or hold on with all shares?

    So I was able to buy all shares of the main island from AI. I feel he is currently the weakest AI in the game.

    The question is: Why should I takeover the island instead of making profit with all shares I currently own? Paying 6M just to wipe out his island?

    Iron Tower quest

    Hi!

    What do I have to do to trigger the Iron Tower quest from the Queen? I unlocked the restaurant, added the dish, unlocked the second one, unlocked Zoo and Cafe, brought the tourist lady on a trip and still nothing. Is there any special requirement? Is it possible that it happens because I'm playing in Sandbox mode? I had to reload previous save because I was unable to unlock three dishes when I've build the tower without the quest. It kept saying to organize the grand opening but nothing happened. Tourist quest ended after I came back with her from the cruise ship...help?

    Cant download 1701 A.D. with old cd

    I found an old disc of 1701 A.D. gold edition I used to play several years ago. I decided to try to put it into my laptop and play it again, but I ran into some trouble when installing it.

    I put the disc into the laptop, and the AutoPlay notification popped up. I clicked it, and it gives me the option of: Run Autorun.exe, open folder to view files, and take no action. I clicked Run Autorun.exe and it comes up with a window to install it. When I click install it starts, but a few moments later it says "unable to find an installed version of 1701 A.D" and it stops

    Does anyone know what's going on, is the disc too old? I have an hp laptop on windows 10. Any help is appreciated
