    Islands sizes

    Posted: 15 Feb 2022 02:23 AM PST

    Hello everyone,

When creating a custom game you can choose the size of the islands. I would like to know if this size affects only the old world or all maps ?

Ideally, I'd like to have small islands in the old world and larger islands in the new world. I don't know if this configuration is possible.

    Anno 1800 multiplayer questions

    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 06:18 PM PST

    Ok here is the question.

My friend and I created a world together. After some time I couldn't see him placing buildings or laying roads anymore. Is there a reason for this. After about 4 hours we quit at the same time and I relaunched the world to see if his island would refresh and invited him back and 3 hours of his progress was gone. The last thing I was able to see him do was where he picked back up on. Not sure what we did wrong but we can load up our last saves separately and all of our progress is current at 4 hours. Unfortunately the only thing we can see of each other's bases are from hour 1. Any help would be much appreciated, we just bought the game last night and we are new.

Regarding AI Settlement in New World and Others(?)

    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 04:44 PM PST

I have a question regarding AI settling on the islands in the New World. If I haven't entered NW yet, i.e., have not started an expedition, will the AI still settle on the islands in NW region?

    Thanks in advance.

Trading stuff the AI doesnt want?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 12:51 PM PST

The title says it all, can I trade stuff, the AI doesnt specificly requests?

I am playing the campain for the first time and apparently I can set a route with items which are not requested. Do I get money or are the items just send back?

How to sync my addons on two PCs?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 02:35 PM PST

Is it as simple as copying the mods folder from one PC to another?

If so, is it the case that some mods simply don't play well on multiplayer? We tried copying mods (Spice it up + a few building mods) from one PC to another and then playing a multi-session but it kept desyncing. We renamed mods folder on both PCs and it worked fine after.

Possible Bug- Grain not going into storage-?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 01:08 PM PST

Really struggling with this one- seems localised to my islands in Cape Trelawney.
Despite minimal changes to supply chains, all of a sudden my grain on a number of islands is bottoming out and just hovers around the 10t mark- basically it seems to only be counting what is temporarily stored in the farm, rather than actually storing it in the warehouses (I think). I'm thinking it's a bug because from time to time I get the Max Capacity warning over the icon (despite it only being at 10t).

Obviously warehouses are in range and rarely jammed up. I've tried pausing Bakeries, making new fields, etc. When I input from elsewhere, the new stock eventually just diminishes to the 10t or so mark.

Anyone come across this before. Is it a bug or something I've missed?

Anno 1800 - when and how to move production to different islands?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 12:37 AM PST

Hi all, I've already gotten some useful advice here, so maybe you can help me out a bit more.

I'm still semi-new to Anno and have a new goal: I want to move all my production to different islands in the Old World, whereas my main/starting island is supposed to be for living/housing only (with commuter piers).

The problem is of course that moving your production abroad is costly at first (trade ships, losing money while restructuring, commuter piers) and requires a lot of resources (e.g. lots of steel etc.), so I'm a bit unsure how and when to do it exactly.

Should I, for example, try to move individual parts of my economy abroad ASAP (e.g. all my farming, all my sausage production, soaps etc.)? And then send out more and more as soon as I can afford it (e.g. my steel production etc.)? This has the advantage that I don't have to move everything abroad at once, which seems like a dauting task. However, it has the downside that I have to build huge farming/working towns abroad for my sausage production (etc.), so I don't have the living <--> production split I desire. Unless I eventually move my whole housing BACK to the main island, but that means even more micromanagement.

OR should I keep everything on the main island (aside from things I need to import, like peppers etc.) and only move everything to different islands once I am rich (engineers/bank)? The disadvantages of course being a very cluttered main island and having to do everything at once.

Is there a mod to make the AI harder in the late game?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 04:18 AM PST

I find the 3* AI in the early game too difficult to deal with; having to scale up production and work towards artisans while dealing with constant attacks on my islands and shipping lanes is just too much for me to handle. However, the 2* AI, while being fun to begin with, gets a little too easy by the time I'm up to investors.

    See developed items

    Posted: 13 Feb 2022 06:33 PM PST

Am I the only one who gets confused whenever research is complete because I don't remember what was in my queue? Why can't the scholar announcing it have a little picture, like all other events that include items? Does anyone know if there's a mod for that?
