You can use numpad to jump worlds

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 05:39 AM PST

I suppose most people knew this, but since I didn't notice this till well over 150 hours in this game I taught I would share it. I just recently found this out that your numpad is a shortcut to jump maps.

    1 = old world 2 = new world 3 = Cape 4 = Atric

[Mod] Project Distinction v 1.0 Release

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 09:17 PM PST

[Mod] Project Distinction v 1.0 Release

    https://preview.redd.it/kvkysw9kzh841.jpg?width=1680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b854495b2db3880c5c6c02f64a294fadfc0e0bc

This mod aims to create a more unique and distinct visual effect for engineer & investor's residential buildings.
The roof colors will blend much better with the artisan and worker tier buildings, the additional taller buildings are part of the extended variations for the residential building.

    • Engineer residential buildings have had their blue roof color replaced with red& black.
    • Engineer residential buildings has an additional variation of a taller building.
    • Investor residential buildings also have new roof textures that stays away from the green.
    • Investor residential buildings have multiple variations added to the list (shift + v) to change.

    https://preview.redd.it/1orm47fmzh841.jpg?width=1680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8751de756c6bc9010d4b21ad208a9bdf4c5becc9

This mod should have no compatibility issues, unless you have other mods that modifies your t4-5 residential buildings.

    Save game compatible.

Compatible with most if not all other mods that does not modify your residential Tier 4 & 5 buildings. ( I built this mod while using spice it up, so there should be no issue there )

When in game, use shitf + v or your own shortcut that changes the building variations to see the new buildings.

    Download Link: https://www.nexusmods.com/anno1800/mods/20

    Requirements:

This mod requires that you have the latest modloader
    DL link (https://github.com/xforce/anno1800-mod-loader/releases)

    Installation:

Extract the [Mod] Project_Distinction_v1.0 folder to your Anno 1800 mods folder.
Should look something like this (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Anno 1800\mods)

    Bugs:

You may notice some texture clipping issues on some of the new buildings, fear not some day I will fix those.

You may notice when zoomed super far away some of the new buildings have a black box on them ( not noticeable ) if that is the case, you're shitout of luck. I haven't got a clue to how to fix that... (not a big issue unless you put your eyes on the screen)

    Hoping for Anno 108 A.D.

I was thinking and realized that all the Anno games are relatively modern. I feel like a game based at the height of the Roman Empire would be amazing. What do you think?

Games like anno but without multiple islands/cities to manage?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 08:35 AM PST

Anno is amazing but I prefer to focus on 1 city instead of focusing on many islands. Are there any games like that?

News on any upcoming new ships in the future?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 12:03 PM PST

I know a lot of people like the city building aspect without warfare etc. and that's fine. But I've always enjoyed teching to the endgame and having an all out war with the AI.

After playing the new arctic expansion I can't help but feel like it was kind of repetitive for me after playing the Cape expansion. I finished it built gas...and that was that. I was hoping we would get some sort of new warships even if it was from the air :/

    Anyone else feel this way?

Any good sandbox play through series to watch?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 07:28 AM PST

    Hello,

I am still learning Anno 1800, but have a pretty good grasp of it. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good sandbox play through series on YouTube or Twitch where the content creator can also give good advice on being efficient? Most of what I have found is from when the game was released many months ago. Is there anything newer out there that I am missing? I found a YouTuber names Raptor but he mostly just seems to wing it for entertainment purposes.

    Thanks

    Edit: I only speak english

Where do i see how much money I'm making on my trade routes?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 02:11 AM PST

I've set up one route with that prison island demanding infinite soap and bread.

I've set it up so I'm sending them 5 of each on every trip but still on overview screen i can only see that it has been delivered but not how much money i get back from it.

    Sechujalla crash

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 05:42 AM PST

As post says, during campaing a rival Ai conquers an island of mine and automatically renames it Sechujalla. Then the game automatically closes. What in the world is this? I can't prevent this unless i don't let my island be conquered. It happens with any island in the New World. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Please be kind and answer some noob questions for me for 1800 :)

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 02:12 PM PST

I just picked up the game and really enjoying it but have some questions that I can't confirm for sure. Can someone help me answer this?

    1. If you have buildings that are in a chain (eg lumber hut and sawmill). Does it make things more efficient to have the end good (sawmill) closer to the warehouse then the lumber hut? I noticed the horse cart for the lumber goes straight to the sawmill.
    2. How exactly do you know the area of coverage for buildings like pubs and fire station? I noticed the roads change color when you highlight these buildings and assume that's the coverage but is that the only mechanism? Is there a way to display a circle like the trade which is more intuitive?
    3. When I build some buildings like the lumber hut I noticed the productive percentage changes along with a time icon when you are deciding placement. I think I get the productivity % decreasing when u build additional buildings in the zone. But the time change I don't get. For example I was building a second charcoal kiln in close proximity to another and the time changed between 15 seconds to a minute to completely disappearing when there is no over lap. This confused me as I know output is 30 sec for the unit so is this implying you actually get synergy by building some buildings close together (ie production time decrease from 30 sec to 15)

What steps do you take to save a game that's gone wrong?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 03:54 PM PST

I don't know why, but every time I get to around mid-Artisan tier, my income tanks, and I can't get out of the several thousands negative. I survive on trade (soap to prison, guns to Isabel, beer to pirates) and so I have a ton of money, but my income is stuck around -$2,500 per minute and won't rise back up.

I've tried moving industry to other islands to save on royal taxes, upgrading residences (although this seems to be when the problem starts, going from worker to artisan), making sure they have all their luxuries as they unlock... but nothing seems to work. The maintenance from all the buildings I need in order to produce the stuff that these folks want so they'll pay tax are all more expensive than what the tax brings in, based on how much I have to build to support the gigantic workforce that's required. Like 50 workers for one slaughterhouse and I need four slaughterhouses, so that's 8 worker houses just for the sausage industry.

Idk. Like, when you boot up a savegame and it's all fucked up, what are your initial actions to get things back on track?

    About Anno 1800

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 10:53 PM PST

As someone who has played a lot of Anno 1701, 1404 (+ the DLCs) and a little bit of 2070 (tried it but didn't like the futuristic setting after all) I have to say that I have not bought 1800 the main reason being the war system (or the lack of). I know that it isn't Total war and it has always been a side thing in Anno if at all but I always really liked war in the game as a whole. You don't even have land battles in this one and the naval battles have kind of an odd feeling.. if you take over an enemy island you either take some shares of the money or every building get's destroyed? What?

    What do you guys think?

Anno 1800 graphics/engine for another future Anno?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 12:43 PM PST

I tried to play Anno 2070 and I couldn't get myself to stick with it. Not after playing Anno 1800 with the build mechanics working much more intuitively and the other changes. Any chance on there bing a future Anno like say Anno 2100 but WITH the same engine/graphics Anno 1800 uses?
