The most space-efficient way to get to 33000 attractiveness for your palace in 1800: SoP

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 03:47 AM PDT

If you want to get the most out of you palace and local departments, you will want to get 33000 on the island where you've built your palace. However, zoo, museum and botanical modules tend to take up a lot of valuable space, since houses also get the most bonusses on you palace island too. So what is the most space-efficient way to get to 33000 attractiveness?

There are six legendary cultural items that also get a 50% boost from legendary sheet music:

    - The Banyan Tree,

    - The Brazil Nut Tree,

    - The Jujube Lotus,

    - The Mesoan Calendar,

    - The Mesoan Habour and

    - The Mesoan Temple.

Because of their drop chances (20%, 20%, 25% vs. 12,5%, 13,33%, 8,88%), the botanical items are far more easy to farm via the world fair though.

So, we have identified the highest tier botanical world fair as the quickest way to gather space-efficent (meaning most atractiveness per space occupied) cultural items. But there are way of futher boosting your attractiveness figures:

    - The most obvious one is the influence bonus, giving you +35% attractiveness per item.

    - If you side with the crown against Dr. Mercier in The Anachist's main quest, you'll receive the Proclamation of Knighthood, giving you a futher 10% bonus.

    - Old Nate allows you to exchange scrap for the Automatic Souvenir Kiosk for another 5% boost.

So in total, you can boost your botanical gardens (and museums) to give you up to **100 attractiveness per equipped item**, so more than double the original value. Considering you'd get the influence bonus anyway, you would still save 32,5% of occupied space compared to using non-music boostable legendarys w/o the town hall items. (The town hall items save you 7,5% of space in this scenario.)

Is there another way to boost attractiveness that I overlooked? Let me know!

Am I the only one really interested in seeing what could be done with the early ages of humankind using Anno as a medium? I personally would love to see the charm of Anno applied.

    Is anno 1800 worth it?

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 10:43 AM PDT

Hi all, i saw that anno 1800 is on sale now and was wondering if it is worth to buy it, since i already have 1404. I thoroughly enjoyed it but also saw the more complex game mechanics of 1800 which got me excited. Are the games much alike?

How do you use your culural set bonuses?

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 01:01 AM PDT

So I have found myself using more and more set bonuses on specific islands instead of just having everything at crown falls. I'm not quite sure if it's always worth it, considering they use quite some space, but I like working with them. Unfortunately I feel like some sets are quite weak compared to those:

I try to use my botanical sets on the production islands for the +25% productivity (and sometimes the fertility)

I put a marshland set (Happiness +2, Chance of Illness -50%) on every workforce Island to counteract Captains Of Industry. The items are cheap and easy to get at Kahina.

I have a sargasso sea ( Attractiveness of Public Mooring +50, Increased Visits +10%), arctic tundra (Increased Visits: +5%) and new world huaca set (Increased Visits +5%) on nearly every tourist island.

(1800) Game not starting, error 1103

    Posted: 10 Sep 2020 01:33 PM PDT

So today I wanted to play the game again, I updated the game to the last version and it didn't start. Then I installed the latest modloader that didn't help.

I decided to delete my mods and verify and repair the game. That didn't help.

I uninstalled the whole game and deleted the game folder completely. Installed the game again. It doesn't help.

It starts, I get a black loading screen, the screen disappears and I get the error 1103.

I have no idea how to fix this if a fresh new install didn't work. Are there still some modloader files somewhere that I should delete?

Edit: I updated my Geforce driver yesterday, so that's probably not the problem.

Edit 2: Solved? I deleted my save game map and restarted the PC and now it works somehow.
