Some QOL suggestions for Season 3

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 11:59 PM PST

Here is a list of things i would love to see in the game, feel free to add to the list. Also sorry for any bad English.

-Let the game start out paused when loading a save,be it a set sail button or just starting paused ,it helps with letting it load and skips the occasional 30 sec of not having textures and models bc the game blitzed thru loading needlessly

-let us have a CT start, i feel having 2 parallel OW sessions is redundant for most ppl and just strains the ram more with little gain as most ppl i know just focus on Crown Falls or on the original OW but not both.I for one would be ok with no sunken treasure story and having all the npc-s in one session,as it also makes their competition relevant bc u can't just abandon them in the other session while u enjoy a safe session just for yourself

-can we please have a button for the statistics screen on the main ui,next to income maybe that just opens the production tab of the statistics screen?

-This one is not a QOL change but an ideea of mine :how about u could chose between having island wide item bonuses(like the older games) or the normal Item play as is u trade the possible number of slots for island wide buffs
This could be either in the game settings before u even start or during play to deepen the item play

-the ability to order a desired item from an NPC for 5-10 times the price once every so often in order to save on time searching for it or grinding research for it

-the ability to overlap harbour tiles with land, beach tiles and rocks so we can have nicer harbours

-have pavements and other decorations that have sens to do so work as roads

-the ability to move more then one thing at a time just like we can copy more than one thing at a time

Why are oil trains so bad?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 06:49 AM PST

I have a large oil harbor and two oil power plants. One power plant can be connected in a loop, but the other power plant only has a single rail line to connect it because of the crowding of buildings.

Why does it seem impossible to supply both power plants with oil? I've rearranged the rail lines in numerous configurations and it always seems that one oil power plant or the other is supplied, never both.

I've tried separating the lines from the oil production to the oil harbor vs the supply lines to power plants and tons of other things.

Any advice besides "figure out how to create a loop for the single line supply power plant"? It seems like a dumb mechanic that a loop is required if that's the case.

The feature I miss the most from Anno 1404 and would love to have in 1800

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 01:48 PM PST

So Anno 1404 had this small quality of life feature that I would simply love to see in 1800. Just as in Anno 1800 loading a save game would take quite a long time. However once the save was loaded you were not thrown into the game right away. Instead a small button showed up on the loading screen saying something like "Ready to set sail" or something similar. Only after clicking the button would the actual game begin.

So I would load a game, walk away, make some coffee or a sandwich, go the bathroom, take my sweet time and when I came back, the game was ready for me to play. With Anno 1800 I have stay at the computer and the loading times are not getting any shorter with the additional dlc's.

So if any devs are reading this: I don't know if anybody else misses this feature but you would certainly make me very happy if this got added as a QoL feature with one of the next pacthes :-D

My income is totally unstable and I don't know why

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 05:44 AM PST

It's basically I have satisfied engineers with bicycles etc. and an average income of +5000-7000

Where do I go from here? If I add a new building like iron my income instantly goes down to 4k, at some point my income actually drops from 7k down to MINUS 3k and goes up after a minute back to 6k+

My income is totally unstable and I have no idea why. At first I thought it was my rum or beer dropping but the bars are green and everytime I check my stock I have some beer and some rum, around 20-30t of each.

But that can't be it. I'd really like to upgrade my engineers since they are at 40/40 since like 4 hours but I'm to afraid cause my income keeps dropping for no reason and I don't have enough ressources for more engineers.. I can't build more, cause the production is to expensive.

    What does "available items" mean?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 10:31 AM PST

    What does "available items" mean?

    Hey,

I just started to play Anno 1800 again after I gave up a previous save because I was a bit overwhelmed.

I noticed that at npc traders (expanding ones as well as static ones like Eli) there is a timer for the refresh and a box which says "available items: 20" ( in my version its states "verfügbare Items" in german). I attached a screenshot in german.

    https://preview.redd.it/lao3nmfle8161.jpg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dfd3a1a53711dcfdd241a38e4351559c6fd04ecf

    What exactly does this mean?

    Help Anno 1800 Coffee Problem

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 10:46 PM PST

Hello I'm new and didn't watch any tips for anno 1800 just started playing sandbox and I need help, I always run out of coffee for my main island, Trelawney and the Arctic. I just don't understand how many islands in the new world I need. Do I only need 1 island for just coffee or do I need to have three or more islands for coffee?
I play with 3 other AI, thanks for any advice.

Will there be a discount-pack of the DLC's not included in the season pass this year?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 03:03 AM PST

They're kinda too much for the amount they give, but I'd still like to have them if they went no a lower price.

I always thought trade routes were bugged but I was wrong.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 10:03 AM PST

So today I learned a new thing.I always had my transport on lets say 1 trade route for rum, one for coffee and so on.

Today I just learned I need one route for everything and just can switch MINIMUM STOCK to lets say 300.

So it basically starts at my main island "A" picking up 50t of beer and sewing machines, drop them off in new world island B (25t of beer and sewing machines), picking up rum 50t and droping off 25t of sewing machines and beer at island C and picking up Coffee at island C so I have 50t of coffee + rum on my way back.

If I have 332 beer for example they only pick up 32 beer and the next dude maybe zero beer, but thats fine, since my stock in new world is at 350+ beer and sewing machines I only need a few.

The downside is you have a few sewing machines and beer just traveling around.. but I guess thats not bad.

TLDR just load max. capacity of each ressource you need but set a limit on minimum stock on the island your picking it up from. Can add 6 items in a single route. And if your ever low on something just add a boat.

    Storyline or random quests

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 08:46 AM PST

I'm not too clear if there is a progression up to a end of story / special reward or outcome when you do quests for the AI players, like Miss Hunt (this old harpy) or Mr Mercier the anarchist?

Or the quests are disconnected and repeat themselves after a while?

Third tier suggestion for Enbesa: Colonial Administrators!

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 08:19 AM PST

With the announcement of Season Pass 3, I think it's a great opportunity to further diversify the tiers of Enbesa. Ladies and Gents, let me introduce you the next tier: Colonial Administrators!

Just like their Enbesan counterparts Scholars in the Old World, Colonial Administrators have their own special needs and unique game mechanism which is loosely based and inspired by the rich history of Europeans in British East Africa in the 19th century.

Who are Colonial Administrators? This broad term describes more than just those who work for the Crown. It includes tradesmen, land owners, specialists, engineers and of course, administrators and soldiers who make sure the colonies in the far lands of Enbesa work and thrive.

As for other tiers, Colonial Administrators have their own special and not-so-special needs. For starters, their community needs are not satisfied by the lively Enbesan marketplaces. Instead, their main point of social interactions are the Hotel which is a unique building solely to fulfill the community needs of the Colonial Administrators. Hotels were, indeed, the social centre of Europeans, famous examples are the Grand Hotel in Khartoum or the Shepheard's Hotel in Kairo. Hotel was more than a mere place for accommodation! In its bars people of all kind met: adventure-seeking young aristocrats, experienced big game hunters, estate owners, officials and high-ranking officers of her majesty's army, and even authors!

Colonial Administrators live in their houses inspired by Enbesans styles while retaining many distinctive Old World features, here Karen Blixen's house in Kenya being a good example, but there are million great examples out there.

Hotel needs bars, bars need cocktails which had a long history on the colonies - many variants, in fact, are from there. No wonder our Old World settlers need it so badly. Cocktails need ice though, but luckily, our hard-working fellows in the Arctic region are more than happy to provide us ice, which is, again, based on the rich history of ice trade.

Colonial Administrators often miss their home country, but there's nothing that cannot be cured by a good cigar and some lovely tunes on the gramophone carried over from the Old World and other colonies of the empire.

Of course, sometimes man needs to take action. Enbesa's rich wildlife offer an excellent opportunity for a great sport, hunting. Safaris would be a special new game element available at the Safari company new building, somewhat similar to expeditions and world fairs. To successfully carry out a great safari, you would need a very thorough preparation: canned foods, clothing, and no less than 150 shepherds from the local workforce who act as carriers, cooks, servants and everything a safari needs. You would also need two specialists, one from the Old World and one from Enbesa. The Old World specialist is the white hunter, a professional hunter who organises the safari, who is responsible for gathering a crew, gathering professionals who prepare the animals, send them back to the camp and in general, to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible. The white hunter needs good crafting and diplomacy skills which increase the chances of a successful safari. His Enbesan counterpart is the kirongozi which literally means "leader" in Kiswahili, and his knowledge and experience in hunting big games in the region is invaluable. His hunting skill is essential for a successful safari - without these two professionals the chances drop the near zero. Historically, kirongozis were actually hired by white hunters, but in the game they are treated as equals.

Safaris, however, need an undisturbed widelife. For this, the player will have to designate a hunting area just like many production buildings have production radiuses. Any buildings in this area (even canals!) disrupt the wildlife and thus must be avoided. The precious rewards of a successful safari, of course, belong to the zoo and the museum.

These are just a few ideas for starters for a new tier in Enbasa, which I believe has a great potential while having strong historical background, and it would increase the diversity in the game in a lovely manner, somewhat similarly to scholars, although this time taking historical accuracy into account as well. I still have a lot more ideas for this tier that I'd be happy to share, but first I'd like to hear your feedback!

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 06:42 AM PST

Sorry, I always just buy the game, never bought a season pass for any game. So what does this pass do?

It seems like you will get access to all DLCs, but they expire after few months?

Looking for list of emotes for use during multiplayer games

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 04:22 PM PST

IE: in Anno 1800 if you start to host a multi player game and type a number in the chat and hit enter it will give you a voice emote for that number. Not sure how many there are but I am trying to find a list of them on the web to reference. Anyone know where it may be?

I'm getting random crashes during play with the following error: "ERROR - Out of Memory", text: "Oh noes :( The Application tried to allocate 2MB, but there is not enough free RAM left".

Has anyone had the same problem and managed to fix it?
