    Selling and Buying of goods

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 02:15 AM PST

This is just a minor inconvience, but it would be really nice to have a Percentage option when selling and buying goods at your habour.

Than you dont need to readjust everything when you increase your storage.

Is there a reason to supply Husky Sleds?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 08:20 AM PST

A single production chain uses up 340 Technicians workforce. Supplying the sleds increases the population of each house by 2, so I'd need 170 houses just to get even. 170 Technicians houses seems to be way more than enough for all the production in the Arctic, so I wouldn't even need the increase of population by then. And that doesn't even take into consideration the space which the production chain uses.
The only reason I find for creating Husky Sleds is... for fun. :-)
Do you know of any other reasons?

Anybody have experience with mods messing with the AI?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 10:30 AM PST

I run a heavily modded game, but now the AI never seem to reach engineers and wondering why? I want to play with a world full of conflict, competition and activity. Anybody have any ideas please?

    Production Statistics UI Question

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 06:04 AM PST

When I click a Fishery and mouse over the Fish icon, it displays X/4, now imagine I have 3 Fisheries (3x4=12).

When I go to the Production Statistics UI and click Fishery, it says Potential is 6 instead of the expected 12. Why is that? There's gotta be something I'm not fully grasping...

    AI still cheating?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 08:18 AM PST

I've always been a loyal fan to this whole settlement builder genre ever since The Settlers.

However, I was seriously disappointed when I finally found out that the enemies in Anno cheat to the point that none of the game mechanics other than combat apply to them. No matter how you blockade them from securing resources and new islands, they always get all the buildings and ships no matter if they have the resources and manpower or not.

They decided to trivialize and ruin the strategic side of the game, and yet there are so many apologists defending it and saying "Well AI always cheats". AI cheating is okay as long as it helps the game. You can't compare apples and oranges.

Is this still the case in Anno 1800? Because in that case, I wouldn't even consider getting this even if it was offered at a -90% discount, even though I really really want to play it. Talk about a love-hate relationship...

Fascinating escorts not doing their job

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 10:17 PM PST

I always find amusing and fascinating when I see a frigate abandons the escort of a clipper because there is an incoming enemy fleet. Generally it ends up with the clipper sunk.

The developers should note that the goal of escorting is not always to win, but to let the freighter escapes. Luckily for the allies during world war II, the escorts did not run each time they saw an U-boat. In fact they NEVER ran. They always did their duty, even at the cost of their life.

Can I install new mods and still play on my current savegame?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 07:44 AM PST

First time trying to install mods, can I just go on with my current game and the mod content will be added without any problems, or do I have to start a whole new game?

Just some simple ornament mods, nothing that effects game play.

Is it possible to install the game on another machine within the LAN and play from a dedicated machine, or do I need to install the game on the machine I intend to play it?

first time to the arctic and I absolutely HATE IT.

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 07:02 PM PST

So on my current play through I waited until I had investors on crown falls and like 80k income before doing the passage DLC. When I got there I was already not liking it but i kept going and finished the story and found the lost crew. So here I am settling a gas island and here is where I have come to hate it. needing 250 techs and having almost no room to build on those stupid islands I have hopped off and idk if or when ill get back on it, its kinda ruined the game for me.

    Some more gameplay questions

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:48 PM PST

    1) When residents head to the Market to buy stuff (not physically, but rather mathematically), does the Marketplace get 1 visitor per house? Or 10 visitors per farm, 20 per workplace, 30 per artisan household etc.? If the latter, does everyone in a household visit the Market at the same time?

    2) Is the time between visits to the Market consistent? Does it differ between tiers of houses? Does it start counting down time until the next visit when the building is first constructed? Does the time reset when upgrading/downgrading?

    3) Is it ideal to maintain equilibrium between supply and demand or is it preferable to slightly fall short of supply to artificially inflate prices (after you've got enough of a given residence to perform jobs you desire)? I guess this is a pretty big can of worms kind of question as you'll also want to occasionally meet demand to encourage festivals etc.

    4) Do all 10 residents in a farm (for example) need their Needs met? ie: Do i need enough shirt producers to produce 10 shirts for 1 house or enough to produce 1 shirt per house?

    5) Is there an in-game indication of when residents will head to the Market/request certain goods? So if I have a farm and a shirt production building producing 4 shirts every 30 seconds... how do I determine if the production facility is producing 10 shirts between the house's checks for new clothing?

    Anno Born To Game

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 08:18 AM PST

I'm calling it, my prediction for season 3!

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 05:29 PM PST

With this image from this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/anno/comments/k11csr/was_there_a_minor_update_to_the_worlds_fair/

I think the DLCs are somehwere along the lines of: 1) skyline - the needs of the new tier would require items from the arctic and enbesa to get more people to buy those dlcs :) 2) something cultural - something close to the botanical gardens dlc. 3) airplanes - i think some of the things that bothers people is that you can't shoot down those darn airships!

I think this would make the most sense. what do you guys think?
