It would be awesome if you could select islands of an entire region in the production statistics when you click on the name of the region. As far as I know currently you can only select them with shift/control What do you think?

Feature Request: Statistic Panel Hotkey usage retains view from previous use of Statistics screen

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 05:51 AM PST

    • Ctrl Q
    • Ctrl W
    • Ctrl E
    • Ctrl R

If I press these hotkeys it'll open the relevant Statistics panel but the Statistics panel that is opened will not retain where I was previously scrolled to nor what I had previously selected.

For example: Ctrl Q will always open Production statistics with the list of items scrolled to the top and Lumber selected.

If I instead mouse click my "Balance" to open the Statistics Panel than all the tabs will remember what I had selected & where I had previously scrolled to (the downside to this method of accessing Statistics being that clicking "Balance" defaults to the Income tab instead of the most recently viewed statistics panel)

For example: Clicking "Balance" and then the Production tab will remember I had previously clicked on Schnapps and retain what position I had previously scrolled to in the list, it'll also remember if I was previously looking at the graph or list of buildings producing the item.

I realize this may seem a little pedantic, anyways I wanted to see what others thought of the idea of making the behaviours consistent, in favour of remembering the selection & view from previous use of Statistics.

    Thanks for reading.

Feature Request: For Production Statistics, symbolize when supply/demand gauge is at 100%

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 06:34 AM PST

It is far too easy to mistake a 98-99% bar as 100% full, resulting in you potentially failing to consistently meet demand. Add a dot or something to the right side of the bar whenever the potential bar is at 100% and a vertically centred asterisk or something when both Potential and Current bars hit 100% full.

What do other people think of this idea?

Land of the Lions: Are there "Good" and "Bad" decisions you can make?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 06:29 AM PST

I bought Anno DLC on sale, and after getting my main island setup, I've ventured south to Africa to explore there, and pillage its natural resources in the name of Her Majesty.

I've done some of the quests and found the water at the Oasis, and now I have the choice to bulldozer the temples and industrialize the area, or restore the temples. I was wondering if one of the choices is better, since I assume they'd both give different rewards when finishing the quest path.

I had a look online, but couldn't find too much info on that, would anyone be able to tell me what rewards you get for each path, and if there's a best path to follow?

I seen a screen shot showing something along the lines of "Land of a thousand streams" perk that improved the canal systems, I assume that's for restoring the temples?

Yet again I ask, Why do we not have an option to enable ALL emergency notifications?! I'm so f*cking sick of not being notified about fires until after buildings start collapsing!

Anno 1800 wikia - How to find & add new icons

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 09:23 AM PST

    Hi everybody,

I am currently doing some spreadsheets with optimal items associated to each building and wanted to do it with help of icons. But I am looking for the "attribute" & "equipped in" icons but I don't find them on Icons page. Can someone explain how to find them in file games or any other methods? I made a list of all icons (printscreen) here with comments on ones I found on the wikia (green) and others that looks like others (yellow).

I want also to thank all the people who maintain the wikia, it is absolutely gorgeous! I want to contribute to it if I can expand it more and make it the more exhaustive it can be.

(excuse my english if I made mistakes, it is not my mother tongue).

Anno 1800: Beryl O'Mara declared war MOMENTS after receiving 120k bribe to not have war, bug or "feature"?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 06:12 PM PST

Hi, today me and 2 friends continued a game that had Beryl as the 4th player.

I am often buying shares on her islands, and continue to rebuy them, I always make sure I have enough reputation with her before I do it.

I maybe had about 45 rep with her, then she suddenly sprung a threat on me, pay 120k or go to war!

I paid, because I thought maybe I did something to lower my rep, and it was set to 30, so no war.

Then, maybe a minute later, she declared war, with a -29 rep drop. There was no obvious reason.

I didn't interact with her or her property in any way after paying the bribe, so why did she take it just to fight me anyway?

The only reason that I can think of is that the score system had a delayed response to my last buying of a share, and that overthrew the rating, but it doesn't explain why she dropped ALL reputation to declare war, does it?

There was also zero chance to both ceasefire or peace.

Because one of my friends was my ally, he too was declared war on, and the subsequent events forced the other friend to drop his economy development and also go to war with her, just so we could stop her from targerting every port and ship we had.

I'm pretty new to 1800, however, I have about 2k hours in 1404, which is the only other Anno game I have.
I am also a PC game developer and I from both experiences, the behaviour of Beryl felt like a bug.

Does anyone know why exactly this happened?

Anno 1800 - current status on item Farming

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 12:11 PM PST

    hi everyone,

so i am starting a new Anno 1800 session and i would like to optimize some stuff. here are a few things i am wondering about:

    1. what is the current status of item farming and attractivity island.does anybody have any recommendations? i have not been into this on my pervious playthroughs.
    2. which sets for the gardens, zoo and museum do you recommend?
    3. also does it make sense to combine item pool items?special list poolsif i would use all 3 of those pools, would one override the other? or would those be added to the possible visitors to my islands?
    4. in my previous playthrough i did not build visitor peers in the new world - did i miss out on something? is this something i should have done?

    thanks for your help.

    edit:
i don not plan to go full on farming! just curious what i could do to improve my old method and see what is out there.
last time i had one big island and crown falls with big cities and musuems and stuff.
plus i added 4 small islands with a botanic garden and a few items.
this resulted in a couple of visitors each hour and added up over time.

Anno 1800 - what is destroying my ships?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 07:48 PM PST

*edit* mystery solved - thanks for the replies :)

So I'm currently playing sandbox single player and all of a sudden I get a message saying my ship has been destroyed - this seemed odd to me as I never got a notification saying it was under attack, nor am I at war with any of the AI (except Jean & Anne, who I have ceasefire agreements with). I jumped to the location, which is in Cape Trelawney and not next to any other island (populated or otherwise), and no other ships nearby. I sent another ship over to the same location to pick up the flotsam left behind by the destruction and the exact same thing happened. I reloaded and got a screenshot of the second ship getting lit up by god knows what.

I asked Google and did read a few posts about sea mines being a thing as part of the Anarchist DLC but I guess that's not what is happening here as I don't currently have that DLC enabled.

Can anyone possibly explain to me what on earth is going on, as having my ships randomly getting destroyed by forces unknown to me is starting to get extremely frustrating.

    Screenshot here

*Edited as in my original post I mistakenly said this was happening in the New World - it is actually in Cape Trelawney

[Simple Question] How do DLCs work in multiplayer?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 12:12 PM PST

Hello, I want to play anno 1800 with my brother. He doesn't have the game yet, but I do with all the DLC's. Can he play with me on multiplayer with the base game and still use all the DLC's (like with paradox games) or does he need to buy all the other DLC's to be able to play with me?
