Failed to synchronize achievements with the cloud?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 03:13 AM PST

After the other day, when Ubisoft Connect was offline for the whole day, I played some Anno 1800 offline. And now when I connect and wanna play I get the message "anno 1800 failed to synchronize achievements with the cloud". Is this the case for everyone? Is my save file corrupted? How to fix?

Anno 1800 - What are useful tips and QoL improvements for new players?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 12:08 PM PST

Hi all, I am new to Anno 1800 even though I played 1404 a couple of years ago. I have seen multiple praises for 1800 in terms of QoL improvements. The game doesn't highlight all of them, however.

So the main question is: What are useful tips, tricks and QoL improvements a player should know?

I also have a few specific queries:

    1. How do I see which production buildings are consuming a specific resource? For example, I want to see highlights of all buildings in a particular island using coal as ingredient.
    2. Is there a shortcut to show which production buildings having reduced productivity due to adjusted working condition, across all islands? I manually change them sometimes but I forget which one.

    Thanks!

Is there any way to unlock the Imperial Flagship skin in 2021? (the normal skin is ugly)

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 08:16 AM PST

To my current understanding, it was only available for the players on Steam back then when Anno 1800 was released in 2019. However, I'd really like to get the Imperial Ship skin for my flagship because the normal skin is somewhat ugly.

I have one copy of the Imperial skin on my Steam account but I'm no longer using Steam because I hate third parties like Steam.

If there is no longer a chance to get it, why not introduce it as a separate DLC that could be bought by everyone or maybe as an Ubisoft Connect exclusive like the Silver Ship in Anno 1404? I'm convinced that there are lots of Anno fans, in addition to me, who would like to get that skin too!

Adding that DLC wouldn't even cost almost anything for Ubisoft since its content already exists. Instead, that DLC would bring Ubisoft some nice extra revenue and for free basically. Therefore, I'm still wondering why that hasn't been done yet.

Anno 1404 achievements to Ubisoft Connect?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 09:06 AM PST

It would be nice to get the Anno 1404 achievements to Ubisoft connect, similarly as in Anno 1800. That's the only I'm missing in Anno 1404 and somewhat a big thing.

Adding that feature and maybe some achievement rewards on Ubisoft Connect would make Anno 1404 a lot more connected to the rest of the series, wouldn't it? In my opinion, it's really a shame that this hasn't been done yet, especially as Anno 1404 is still one of the top titles of the Anno series along with Anno 1800 and Anno 2070.

Anno 1800 is great but it still lacks many great aspects of Anno 1404, which makes Anno 1404 definitely worth playing even in 2021. For instance, I'm really missing the interesting characters, meaningful syoryline and the general achievement system of Anno 1404. Also, the art, music and overall experience of Anno 1404 is something that still gets me to play it a lot, even more than I play Anno 1800.

That said, I'd really love to get Anno 1404 achievements synched with my Ubisoft Connect account. Is there any chance of that happening in the future?

    Ranking system to Anno 1800?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 12:36 PM PST

Anno 1800 is a great high-end game by graphics, in-game mechanics and and overall user-experience. However, after a certain point, you might find yourself in a situation, in which you have no more things to do. Maybe you have completed all the achievements, finished your dream city in Cape Trelawney long time ago and optimized every production chain to the point where you cannot go further.

Of course, you could always start a new game but there might be very little excitement left after playing the game through, say 10 times, and after having built everything you could ever think of.

Anno 1800 is a popular game in its own genre but still its popularity is only a fraction of many of the most popular games on the market, such as Fortnite, CS:GO and League of Legends.

To my understanding, people come to play Anno games in search of a high-quality city building game, to build beautiful cities, to optimize, to play a compelling strategy game a bit similar to Civilization games or maybe just to enjoy the music and the visual experience of the game. However, the majority of people outside of the Anno community are not looking for any of these aspects in a game. Take CS:GO or Fortnite community: most of these people want competition and a distinctive indicator of your progress - and that is called your rank.

In the beginning of this post, I talked about players having nothing to do after having completed all their goals in Anno 1800. Also more recently, I talked about Anno being a game with relatively small amount of players.

Taking into account both of these facts, I have been thinking of whether Anno 1800, along with the Season Pass 3, or some future Anno title could get a ranking system, similar to those of the games mentioned before. Perhaps, by introducing player ranks, the players-having-nothing-to-do-anymore could get a new ultimate challange, climbing to the top of the ranks. Also, by introducing ranks, Anno 1800 and the Anno series, in general, could get an immense opportunity to attract massive amounts of players from the competitive field of gaming. This way, maybe in the future, some future title of Anno could have even an esports league.

In the end, I know that many Anno players only look for relaxing time while building cities and the like. However, by introducing ranks, there could be a bright future of huge opportunities waiting for the Anno community and new kinds of ways for the game to develop and gain popularity.

These days, almost all games can be traced down to two categories of games: relaxing games and competitive games. That said, perhaps by introducing a ranking system to the Anno series, Ubisoft could even be a pioneer in combining these both aspects of contemporary video gaming and fill the niche of games that serve the player in both ways, by relaxing the player and by giving them the chance to compete, each of which in accordance to whatever the player needs at a certain moment.

What do you think about my suggestion? Would it totally ruin the game or open new doors of unprecedented opportunities for the whole Anno community?

    Turning around in First Person

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 11:35 AM PST

    Hi Everyone!

Mybe it is just me, but for some reason I'm unable to turn around freely in first person mode. I can turn for some degree, and the other way too, but the game simply blocks me from turning further. When overseeing things, I can turn however I want, but this is just simply annoying. Is it the same for others too?

    There is coffee...

But there's no tea. In a 19th century British Private Colonial Tycoon game.

It looks odd and I wondered if someone knew about any related statement the devs might have done. This is serious.

Well, not really, but I'm pretty curious.

Hello there, i wanted to ask if anyone who has a better understanding of modding could help me with the mod configuration.

I want to change the "Variable Fields & Areas" to the point where i only need 50% of the crops, like 72 insteaf of 144 for the corn field as an example.

Here's a link to where the modding is a little explained https://incipium.github.io/Anno1800Modding/

    Stuck on Sunken Treasures

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 03:12 PM PST

I'm pretty late on the game with 2500 engineers and building the institute. I'm stuck on the quest Capital of Culture which requires you to build a zoo and equip a animal.

That quest will not complete for me after constructing and destroying then constructing it again to equip a animal again...

I need this to open the world fair quest chain in order to obtain the 8 a lot cargo steam ship from the institute.

Is there some sort of hidden pre-requisite that I'm missing? What would you recommend me do?

    Multiplayer Matching?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 12:23 PM PST

Looking for several players for a long term game; no held-back punches. All or any DLC. Need 3 more teams. Is there a service that already exists in assistance to the in-game one?
