My tips for early to mid game

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 11:08 PM PST

My tips for early to mid game
    • Items are everything. Build your town with maximum town hall coverage.
    • The New World is not required to reach investors. You can put + max residents items in a town hall, then unequip it once you have 21/31/41 residents. This will make your houses upgradable even if the needs are not 100% fulfilled. Get these from Archibald:

    • You can easily fill the need for Fur Coats with this item from Eli:

    Costume Designer

    • Similarly, fill the needs for Canned Food and Rum with this item from Eli:

    Actor

    • You can make a TON of money with the following item from Eli. Just sell the pocket watches and gramophones to any NPC and you won't have to worry about money ever again.

    Dario the Mechanical Engineer

    • Once you have enough influence (a few investors), capture up to 300 influence worth of islands. This will give you a passive 200 workforce of each tier for free, everywhere.
    • With the passive workforce only (no houses), use other islands to setup small production chains, and boost worker conditions by +50% for ALL resources. Having no houses means that you get the additional production for free, without the need for police.
    • Some very useful items from Eli:

    • If you have the space, you can get an easy attractiveness boost by building tons of schools around a town hall, with the following item from Archibald.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some tips, but that's it for now. Please share anything that you found useful in your playthroughs!

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 08:45 AM PST

    Hi,

I suddently get crashes after maybe 10min play time, just closes and goes to desktop.

I ude Mod loader 7.12, I tried to go back to 7.10 but get error my version is not compatible, only with .12 I get Mods loaded. I have R7 3700 und 1660Super, I turned already back to direct X11, instead of 12, even it worked before. I reinstalled Anno, twice, but same result.

    Help with supply in 2070

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 11:16 AM PST

After playing and loving 1800 I figured I'd try 2070 and have been enjoying it so far, despite some struggles with the campaign, but generally I feel like the production and supply rates are so much more volatile than in 1800. Power and ecobalance both factor into your buildings not operating at peak performance but even when they're stable (positive energy, at around -50 ecobalance) I still cant seem to get my consumables to produce reliable numbers. Whether its fish or tea or communicators it seems like if I dont have an absurd number of the factories than I'm always playing catch up, or running into walls mining slots fill up.

Right now I'm having so much trouble with health food, I'm sitting at around 2500 population and four health food stations with the same number of rice and vegetable farms but again I can't keep the supply stable. Before it was tea. Is this normal? Should I really have six or seven health food factories for what feels like a small population? Is this just a campaign thing? I haven't played much sandbox but I'm really losing interest in this game and not wanting to invest the time to try it out. What am I doing wrong?

Replaced Input Items: Do you use it?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:56 AM PST

Do you usually use items that replace the original input? Why do you use it? Or why don't you? And maybe tell where you tend to use it (which productions).

    Neutral traders position

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 03:26 AM PST

    Hi fellow annohollics,

I noticed the three neutral traders (Archie & co) always appear in the upper corner of the map when I choose Medium world and Archipelago. If I choose a large Map, it seems random, but on medium, whatever the seed, they are always on the upper corner (however they may swap their positions between them).

Did anyone else notice this ? Or did I not understand something in the map generation ?

Most influence-effective war fleet for quests?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 02:50 PM PST

Which warship type, or combination of different types, is the best in terms of damage, durability and influence in Anno 1800?

I am running low on influence on my current game, so I want a lean fleet just for escort and destruction quests. I don't need to invade islands as I have already conquered all AIs.

I am personally debating between sets of 2x Pirate Frigates vs 1x Pirate SOTL. Or is a swarm of Pirate Gunboat better?

I have tons of ship-related items to equip thanks to excessive expedition if that matters.

    Thanks!

Is there a mod that allows me to keep anno designer always on top?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 04:38 PM PST

That is, can I have anno designer (or even just a png viewer) sitting on top of anno 1800 so i dont have to alt-tab every 10 seconds?

Even better, is there something which can match the scrolling of my game to the scrolling of the designer map?

Anno 1800 Campaign. Worth it to defeat all other enemies?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 08:00 PM PST

Was wondering that... On one side, trade rights can be a good thing for extra income, and so can be the quests. On the other, they can start a war on you (eventually) and will steal islands from you.

    What do you think?

What did it say at the 24 hours mark

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 02:20 PM PST

I just went woke up from a pretty mad Anno 1800 binge. At the 24 hour mark the game asked me if I was Jack Stauber [edit: it said Jack Bauer instead, thanks to Ahli for letting me know]
there was a voiceclip and I couldn't hear it 'cause I had music running in the background.

I don't think I'll do another binge like that anytime soon, but I really want to know what it said... has anyone else encountered this?
