Should I invest my limited resources in improving my Embesa colonies?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 10:35 AM PST

I've noticed that my Enbesa colonies (3 islands only) are giving my economy some trouble. So instead of improving my Enbesa colonies, I focused improving my Old World colonies first.

My economy improved and has been stable now.

Got tips to improve Embesa colonies?

    Sir Archibald is broken

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 04:42 AM PST

I'm about to unlock engineers and Sir Archie has yet to have ANY ships for sale. I have seen ships show up in his harbour but with no $ sign over them. I got my flagship destroyed in hopes that it would somehow make him start selling ships but it has not worked. He sold me a new flagship but that was all. Is this a bug? Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm playing in sandbox for the first time, does he not sell ships in sandbox?

How can I get the Imperial Pack in Anno 1800?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 11:08 AM PST

Two years ago, I purchased my first copy of Anno 1800 on Steam. That copy had the Imperial Pack. However, roughly one year after that I bought Anno 1800 on Ubisoft Store, and that copy didn't have the Imperial Pack!

Now, I don't have that Steam account anymore and therefore I don't have the Imperial Pack anymore. However, I have considered to buy Anno 1800 one more time just to get the Imperial Pack. Please give me some advice on how can I get the Imperial Pack this time. I wouldn't like to lose another 60 € without getting what I would like to have. I am sure that someone else has had the same issue.

Stuttering on a Lenovo Legion Y520

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 05:58 AM PST

As the title says I am experiencing stuttering when zooming on my main city part with residences. I have an intel i5 7300hq and a gtx1050. I figured it must be the RAM cuz I only have 8gb installed and am playing on medium to low settings. Any help appreciated!

    Anno 1800 won't launch

    Posted: 31 Jan 2021 05:21 AM PST

The game won't launch anymore, the other day it was going fine, next day it wouldnt launch.

It does not seems to matter were i launch it from. I tried launching it from:
    Steam
    Uplay (ubisoft connnect)
    trough AMD driver software
Run the .exe file as administrator.

When i tried to launch the game, ubisoft connect window opens, then a black screen whith windows loading cursor, cursor changes to in-game cursor, and then back to desktop. no crash report or anything. No processes found of anno 1800 in taks manager after crashing.

    I tried:
    reinstalling game,
    reinstalling ubisoft connect
    reinstalling graphics drivers,
    running the game as administrator.

    Nothing seems to work.

    specs:
    mobo: x570 steel legend
    Cpu: amd 5800x
    Gpu: amd rx 6800 xt
    ram: 32GB u/3200hz

    Managing Traderoutes - Anno 1800

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 03:12 PM PST

    Hi everyone,

I got a question regarding traderoutes between old- and new World. It seems that the demanded goods (like rum and coffee) dont get fast enough to my main Island. I use mostly clippers for the Cargo. Two clippers for each product and every ship transports about 100t. But it seems that the stocks in the main Island are running dry before another shipment arrives. The production tab (ctrl+q) tells me that there are enough production facilities for the demand.

Any advice how to get the products more on time or in the "right" rhythm from A to B? Or do i have to overproduce or use only steam vessels?

Thanks in advance and happy settling ; )

Anno 1800 Research Institute Missing Items

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 06:34 PM PST

I'm wondering about the few items missing from the research institute, such as the quest rewards from the queen, or the proclamation of knighthood.

Is there a mod that unlocks these for research?

I'm playing co-op, so I can't do the single player quests, and generally don't like playing with AI.

How do you handle pirate/enemy AI fleets and protect your trade routes?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 01:12 PM PST

Usually with base builders I like to play survival or expert mode, but with this game I can't stand against the AI fleets.

When the 3* AI declares war on me they pick off my trading ships one at a time with a handful of gunships (even when they're escorted by a frigate or sotl) and my production chains collapse.

I recently tried playing with friendly AI, but I couldn't make peace with Anne - I got a ceasefire but when it ended every single one of my clippers got ravaged and my ships-of-the-line couldn't catch the pirates.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious here, it's just so infuriating having a much more powerful navy but then getting my economy completely wrecked by a few gunboats scattered across the map.

PSA: know the downsides before buying the History Edition of 1701

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 04:34 PM PST

While introducing some nice features, the updated version created multiple new bugs. Most significant to me in my experience thus far has been the inability of NPC opponents to train any troops. This fundamentally breaks half of the game's combat, which is a pretty important facet of 1701, imo. Other new issues are more atmospheric and involve graphical effects reoccurring long after a disaster has occurred or music for certain scenarios playing at random, etc. How you mess up a game like this when you were barely modifying it to begin with is beyond me. But I am now going back to the original. Guess the soundtrack was worth the purchase, though.
