    Normal grass

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 12:47 AM PST

I know it might take a lot of work but can we pleeeeeeeeeease get the normal grass for buildings and trees? It looks so unnatural when I plant the trees on the cliff and it's so dark that you can see the squares...same when I plant them next to the buildings in the outskirts of the city...

Does anybody else encounter a bug where tractors are boosted by propaganda?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 09:00 AM PST

When applying the +20% production/+30% infection risk article from the Anarchist DLC, it also boosts the "production" of the tractor sheds, which basically only means that they use up more fuel.

While that may be intended, the boost however does not stop once a different newspaper is published. The effect is lost by destroying and rebuilding the tractors shed, however I do not look foreward to breaking and rebuilding every single tractor shed in my world.

Has anybody else encountered this bug?

Does it matter whether I side with Ketama or Blake in the Land of Lions storyline?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 04:47 AM PST

I would like to know if there are some rewards that I couldn't get in other ways in the quest where I have to choose whether I side with Ketama or Blake.

What exactly are the rewards for each one? And are the rewards items that cannot be built in Research Institute?

Who should I side with? Or does it even matter?

City Planning & Empire Layout Questions

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 03:52 AM PST

Hey guys, was wondering what people thought about optimal ways to layout the different tiers of citizens as you develop your game.

As a newcomer to anno, I've just learned about the benefits of offshoring heavy industry and such to other islands to keep your main island beautiful, but I wanted to get more insight on how to potentially optimize goods flows between islands, as obviously each tier has different needs. My questions are as such:

    1. Is it better to have one mega city with your entire population from farmers to investors? I can imagine doing this for commuter pier purposes is great. However, you have to supply all of your necessary goods back to this one island, leading to potentially overwhelming your harbor. Is that as big a deal as I'm thinking it might be (if you literally have no industry on the island and just stack it with the workforce).

    2. If I have engineers/investors on an island, can I still build the bicycle/spectacle/lightbulb buildings without pollution risk? Or is that best left to the island where I move my heavy industry?

    3. I saw a video by a guy who had a different island for each citizen class with all requisite needs for that citizen. I.E. Farmers had one island with only schnapps/workers clothes etc, workers had their own, artisans, (and then Engineers and Investors shared their own). Would this be more beneficial in a way? I feel like if you did this and hooked up commuter piers, you could easily see bottlenecks and expand the requisite population when necessary.

    4. I've recently gotten to investors, and already seen the money boon that comes with it. I'm at about a 16k surplus after having narrowly avoided bankruptcy for HOURS in the artisan to engineer era. But I also end up seeing people with 100k+ balances, is there some building or method I should look into (other than the bank) to do this or does it just come with scaling your investors over time?

    5. Do you all have any tips for how to keep a surplus cash flow in Artisan to Engineer phase of the game? I had to basically set up every trade route I could with beer for anne harlow and soap for eli and selling ships to Archibald. I would have easily lost the game had I not done this.

    6. Is the natural gas power plant worth it over the oil one? I know you don't need to set up train logistics but it seems like a BIG effort to get the supply routes up and running from the Arctic.

    7. What do I actually need to mount a successful arctic expedition? It seems like just setting up one ship like I usually do is not enough for morale, what have you guys found success with?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide. There were such informative answers on my last question I really felt encouraged to get more insight again. Appreciate the help :-)

What's the dumbest thing you did in Anno?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 09:01 AM PST

For me it was playing the first 30 hours without realizing you can click&drag objects like houses or ornaments, and always placed them 1 by 1. And yes, I upgraded each house individually too, always wondered why I was progressing SO slowly. I was mindblown when I watched the first YT gameplay.

Since uplay was down yesterday Anno 1800 wont start at all, how to fix this?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 12:57 AM PST

Hey guys, since uplay was down yesterday in europe at least Anno 1800 won't start at all for me. I get a black screen with the Anno 1800 style cursor but then the Anno icon on the task bar just disappears. Maybe this has something to do with the update 9.3 as well and it is just coincidence with uplay downtime.

Has anyone an idea on how to fix this?

Edit: I did the uplay check file thing and nothing changed.
Also while the game displays the black screen it seems to fetch one autosavefile from uplay. Everytime I delete it in my local directory it just appears again after opening Anno 1800.

I purchased Season Pass 3 but it doesn't show as purchased

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 03:15 AM PST

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me; as my topic says I just bought the Season Pass 3 but in the DLC list where it shows the purchases it does not mark the Season Pass 3 as owned and prompts me to buy agan, however all the other DLC I own are correctly marked as owned (which I bought previously in December).

I am aware none of the DLCs for the Season Pass 3 are released yet, so is this normal until a part of the season pass is actually released? Although it does state there are some ornaments available now, so I am little worried it's not actually activated/purchased correctly.

As far as I can tell my order went through correctly as a DLC for another game has activated though. Thank you in advance for the help and apologies for the stupid question.

How is Anno 2205 compared to 1800?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 06:24 AM PST

Will there be supply chain management like 1800? I liked Anno 1800 very much, will Anno 2205 give a similar experience?

Will there be new items for the docklands DLC or the rest of S3 DLCs?

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 10:40 PM PST

edit: ANSWERED! while i had the stream open in the background, they answered the question for docklands. There are no new items for docklands and for the other DLCs, they don't want to spoil! Check the video at 58:25

[Anno 1800] How much propaganda is too much?

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 05:14 PM PST

I checked around online but couldn't find an answer. If you publish too much propaganda in the newspapers it can backfire, but are there hard numbers or a rule of thumb about how much/how often it's safe to use it? Thanks!
