Ornament Archways/Entrances should count as a road. Posted: 12 Feb 2021 12:56 AM PST I am aware that there may be some mod that creates this, I am aware there's a mod that makes plaza tiles be counted as streets as well, but for base game purposes, and for the fact that I am not the most creative person when it comes to decorating. Shouldn't it be a good thing to have at least the entrances have street-like access? I say this because I've always thought about the first time I played Anno 1800 and I saw Bright Sands, I saw how the University was caged off by Fencing and Fence Gates and I personally thought it looked nice. A shame it was actually completely useless. Anyone else have thoughts on the matter? [link] [comments]

Any advice how to fix the poor fps and memory consumption Posted: 12 Feb 2021 06:26 AM PST Hey guys, I know there's a ton of posts of this subject, but after trying everything there is (except lowering the graphics settings too much, because I really can't stand playing games with poor graphics and I feel it takes a lot away from the overall experience), I can't find a solution to work with. So first things first: I'm running this game with an i7-8770k 3.70GHz, Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 2080 TI OC and 16gb DDR4. As many of you probably know, the game is really hungry for memory as your kingdom grows. I'm not even too far in this save (around 15k residents with 4 conquered islands in the old world) and I've progressed into 3 of the DLC continents, and I'm averaging with around 10-30fps. The game cuts the audio out, leaving me without any sound for 5-10 seconds, comes back and all the residents just freezes. I can move around with the camera and zoom in and out, but I can't interact with anything. It do recover from this state, but the fps naturally keeps really low. When the game actually runs and I decide to build something and click on the object I want to build, the fps goes straight down to around 15fps. The frame drop makes it so hard to even build, that if I try to put it on a certain location, it jumps 2-5 tiles away from the spot I want to build it on. Monitoring the memory usage, the game consumes 96-98% of the overall memory. So, the big question is: Do I actually need to go and buy more DDR4 memory to play the game with very/ultra high, or do any of you who have managed to solve this issue, found any solutions to fix it? I'm running on Steam and I have tried to run it with steam in offline mode and launch it from there. Also tried having steam in offline mode and launch it through Ubisoft Connect. I really enjoy playing Anno, it's a really chill game and gets me really excited, but at this point it's just an unplayable mess for me. I also love great graphics, so if I'd had to lower the graphics to a point it's not satisfying my eye, I can't play it (I know it sounds stupid, but I love to watch all the residents going around interacting with each other stuff, it makes the game feel so much alive, like I'm actually in there with them. AND I LOVE THE FIRST PERSON VIEW!). Or is my computer just not enough for the game? Thank you a lot for taking your time to read and help me out, really appreciate all of you and I hope you have a great weekend! EDIT: I just scrolled through the posts here on Anno reddit, and I forgot to mention that the game ran smoothly 3 days ago. Apparently there was a patch the other day after which players started to get these problems and my problems started as well. [link] [comments]
What we need for upcomming cosmetic packs Posted: 12 Feb 2021 01:02 PM PST Hey all, Let's discuss something. In the livestream they said they'll be working on some new cosmetic packs. As of yet we don't know what they will be (maybe they have not even started yet) so lets all state what we'd like to see! (And maybe a modder could do the work for us 😜) I'd like to see some sort of 'matchday' pack, with sporting facility's such as a football stadium / horse racing track Or a 'monuments' pack, which provides cool bonusses, like a sort of 'big ben' which provides residents with the pocketwatches etc. What would you like to see? The new world is stressing me out Posted: 12 Feb 2021 03:28 AM PST Hi, how do manage 2+ worlds? I have 3 islands in the old world, arround 10.000 inhabitants an my residents are lvl 3. Its already hard to meet all requirements to get them to lvl 4, expand the islands and industry and now I have to manage the new world too. How do you do that without everything breaking down arround you haha? Am i progressing too fast or too slow? How do you manage multiple islands (So that they dont make a huge loss)? Posted: 12 Feb 2021 01:03 PM PST So I've learned recently that you have to have multiple power plants to power houses, factories, etc. (Unless I'm wrong??) My question is how do you prep your residential neighborhoods for having power? what's the best layout for an old world city? Thanks all. [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Feb 2021 02:59 AM PST So I pre-ordered the season 3 pass, 2 days ago. But it is still purchasable on my Ubisoft connect, and I didn't get any of the bonus ornaments. Is that because S3 is not officially out yet? Has anyone experienced something like this or do I need to report this to support? [link] [comments]

Project: Making Trelawney completely self sufficient - questions about some resources. Posted: 11 Feb 2021 03:00 PM PST Hi! Preface: I'm not good at anno, predesigned layouts scare me and I'd rather try to come up with my own layouts. My best city had about 12k people so far in another save. However, I got it into my mind to make Crown Falls an entirely self sufficient Island, with only using islands on Trelawney to supply goods if the need absolutely arises. So far I'm down to only absolutely needing Oil from other islands thanks to Crown Falls only having 4 deposits, and my biggest roadblock: caoutchouc. As far as I have seen, there is no other way than to use charcoal kilns to bring it into the old world. My question being: As I have never reached a city size of over 5k investors and 4k engineers, how many people am I looking at when making a Crown Falls with every population group (mostly investors, but healthy supply of the rest to cover the entire region)? And consequently, how much caoutchoc will I be needing to supply my dearest engineers and investors with their suicide bikes and Model T's? On a sidenote, I heard that coffee and chocolate are massive lategame roadblocks. I plan to alleviate those with the Speicherstadt DLC but how many bakeries for chocolate and advanced coffee makers am I looking at to satisfy these people? Scholars will not be a thing on Trelawney, I gave those rum drinkers a special island full of engineers in the Old World where they can conduct science in peace. Thanks in advance! Posted: 11 Feb 2021 02:14 PM PST This was actually super useful because now you can stop your Obreros from consuming your Coffee, Cigars, and Bowler Hats. [link] [comments] |
