Posted: 24 Mar 2021 11:31 AM PDT I remember playing a pirated version of Anno 2070 years ago, this week i decided it would be nice to finally buy it and play it legally, since i'm dropping Anno 1800 util the next dlcs comes. And man, i love this game, i like the futuristic setting, the background story is great and the ecology theme is something that interest me a lot, but compared with 1800, it's really, really hard. I'm actually playing with the Tycoons, my memory told me that they were the hardest of the two factions, and i thought i was prepared, but i didn't remember how HARD was maintaining the eco balance when playing with them, even on islands with a positive eco balance modifier i struggle to maintaining the number on a decent value. The economy is harder too, when i play Anno 1800 i usually get filthy rich on Engineers, here however it seems imposible to have a good income util you have established the last population tier and satisfied all or almost all of their needs. I'm strguggling a little with the limited resources (Not really since i configured the game with a lot of resources, but seeing those bars on a color that isn't green makes me anxious) but i believe it shouldn't be a problem thanks to the techs, if only i had more money, of course. I believe the Pirates of this game are the most agressive pirates i've ever seen on an Anno game, or at least, i've never seen any pirate attack the way Hector does, his ships always attacks in groups like a swarm, always trying to outnumber your ships, i really like the way it work, but man, give me a break. Speaking of AIs, i really like how the AI players work in this game, they don't try to imitate what a player would build, nor has the need of it, i like that the way they work is connected to their personality and occupation. I really, really love how Leon Moreau works, it's so useful to have him in the game. Also, Sokov, you're a shit. Among other things i miss a lot of the QoL features of Anno 1800 but that isn't something that bugs me out too much. I have to soon start building the Tycoon monument but first i need to increase my income and win some more money aaaaaaaaaa it's too hard but i love it anyway. It's been a lot of time since i played and i'm very happy that i'm enjoying so much. I wanted to share some of my thoughts of the game. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Mar 2021 11:57 AM PDT I played anno 1800 on release and loved it, and just got back into it again. Deciding to buy the season passes I tried to get into it again but all of those new lands was just too much for me. Anno is my relaxation game and going to so many places and do so many things just became to hectic for me. Is there a way to delay the DLC, so I can tackle them one by one? Or can I add the DLC one by one to my game? [link] [comments]
Difficulty settings recomendations Posted: 24 Mar 2021 11:08 AM PDT Current game is going a bit side ways, I've finished the world fair and the Land of the Lions quest line, but I think everything's a bit unmanageable and my city looks like arse, so I feel like I might start a new save soon, but I wanted to check what settings you guys have been using on your games? I was using the standard advanced settings, just with the map revealed on startup because the fog annoys me, and with high starting cash, because you're going to be swimming in it anyways, but I want to check what settings people have been using for those megacities? I've not delved much into Sunken treasures, but I want to try that out next play through, and build a mega city at crown falls. When it comes to the AI, I'm fine with 2 advanced ones, I like them to have a bit of bite, having to rush 3 regions at once is a little annoying, but I can manage to get to the new world before they snap up all the islands. I did try Gustav or whats his name out once, but he was a bit too aggressive, and also a prick, so I don't think I'll want to use him again. I did try a game with 3 easy AI for testing the new DLC stuff, but I felt it a bit lacking since they didn't really do much, and Wibblesock kind of annoys me. I'm mainly interesting in the economy you guys use, on the advanced with my skill it can be a little bit dicey in the early game, once I can get beer and eventually rum setup, I'm pretty much alright from there, but I don't make the huge bucks till I get engineers fully setup, is there any methods you use to help afford expensive upgrade items around the artisan tiers? Also want to know what influence settings you use, I didn't have much of a problem with it until the late game, but I think that's probably because I had enough islands across 4 regions to get the world conqueror award, and my fleet of 20 battlecruisers was eating up a lot of it. Do you normally go with the normal or advanced settings for your economy, just want to try and gauge what people have been using for these nice looking cities. [link] [comments]
