    Favorite 2021 Item Setups?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 07:41 AM PDT

There doesn't seem to be much talk lately about people's favorite item setups. Given the Academy makes items accessible by anyone I think it's always a good time to revisit people's ideal item setups. I found some nifty combinations that I haven't heard many people talking about. It'll be interesting to see if there are more ideal builds to what I'm using. I also found that with the Academy workforce has become a new high priority.

    Engineer Residence:

I use The Actor like almost everyone does to remove Rum/Canned Food needs. I also use Saint D'Artois, Vision of the Valley to increase my residence by 20% and then I use Hilarious Helium Party Balloon Pump to increase the Engineer workforce by another 20%. I think with an ideal Engineer "Circle" I can get almost 7,000 engineer workforce with that Town Hall setup. It's super space efficient and easy to manage.

    Trade Unions

I find that Human IncarN8 Nr. 9 doesn't get enough love for the -50% workforce. With the Academy Engineer workforce need those Engineer workers are super valuable and most and most of the industry you need seems to have Engineer Workforce. I put this in every Trade union and with the Palace act I have 0 need for Engineer workforce allowing me to allocate it all to the Academy.

I generally just add the "Replace Input" specialists for the other slots and make themed blocks of industrial complexes, but getting those buildings down to 0 workforce is key for my play style of trying to minimize moving parts for maximum benefit.

    Scholars

Dean, the Dean of Deansville University is the obvious one for the huge increase to residents. It allows me to have a nice compact university district and lowers the permits needed. Bonus research is always nice. I also use Amazing Fashion Designer for even more bonus residents. My final slot is a bit of an odd one but I hate telephones (Just because the building is so big and fits awkwardly into my layouts) so I use the Telephone Repeater. I'm pretty sure that with this 3 Telephone factories can supply almost exactly 7K Scholars. Just the right amount.

    Mines

Jörg von Malching is the obvious one for +70% productivity and bonus ore and oil. The second one I use is usually Pertwee's Turbo Generator so that I can get electricity on the cheap. Running rails into that narrow mountain pass on Crown Falls is a pain. For iron mines I love The Bizarro-Balloono-Magn8 it gives you an iron every cycle. For those 2 iron mines next to each other on crown falls that little setup of 2 mines and a trade union provides I think 50 Iron ore per minute, plus a bunch of Oil and Gold Ore. It's insane. Just make sure you're constantly using that iron because when the storehouses are full that Gold/Oil you may have been depending on will stop too.

I'd be interested to hear what other setups are. I like to build as much as possible with as few parts as I can to keep my mind at ease that I didn't accidentally break something. It's more relaxing to me than having 40 trade ships constantly going worrying I miscalculated a remainder and it's all going to fall apart. I only have 2 islands in any region (Except the Arctic... because the arctic....) and only one ship going between any two regions transporting goods (Except an extra oil tanker from the new world) and I'm stable at 10K Investors and 7K Engineer workforce. To me that's been much more relaxing an experience. Docklands obviously is necessary but right now almost all my docklands slots are just used for not wanting to deal with Scholars needs.

Anno Games + recommended ( Nvidia Control Panel) Settings?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 01:43 AM PDT

    Hi everybody.

I've been experiencing some weird stuff with the performance of Anno 2205.

2070 runs perfectly fine at 140fps, until I get huge cities etc, it drops to around 60fps.
Now that's fine, 60 is perfectly playable.

Now I play Anno 2205 and it looks SOOO GOOD and performance is great. But when I got to bigger cities etc., I noticed the game dropped below 60fps, I tried some settings. And nothing worked.

Going from Very High to Low, I gained ~10fps. That's weird.
So I got into the Nvidia Control Panel settings, messing around with some stuff. Now I get 60+ fps again, more stable.

    Basically what I'm asking is:
Are there any recommended settings? What tanks performance, what may bottleneck your system because of CPU/GPU workload?
I want to get Anno 1800 soon but I wanna make sure it runs, first.

I can build scholar residences but no research institute

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 06:23 AM PDT

So I skipped the Embesa campaign, (I'm playing a sandox game and I really dislike the quests in anno games), and now I have over 2000 elders and can build scholar residences but no research institute. Do I need to go back and play the storyline to get access to the institute?

[1404 HE] Do achievements work for all players in a multiplayer game?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 07:44 AM PDT

I recently started a multiplayer game (Online, 1404 History Edition) with a friend. We quickly noticed that only I, the one who started the game and loaded it every session, was getting achievements. Is that normal or did we do something wrong? Also, his shortcuts were reset every time the game was restarted. Is that normal too?

I am confusing about the description on Wiki about the food supply.

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 07:16 AM PDT

How many people can be supported by 1 standard no-boost corn farm?

On Wiki, it says 1 Tortillas maker can support 70 Obereros, and then it added (up to 1400 Obreros). BTW 1 Tortilla maker requires 100 Obereros to work.

On my new world Island, nearly 3k Obereros but only consume 3 tortillas. So, what does the "up to" mean?

Now I have planed 11 corn farms around the TU with tractor barns, 8 for food, and 3 for alpaca farms(14 of them). I may plan around 10 cotton farms later on that island as well.

Generally, will this setup satisfy the whole new world population? Thanks.

I am trying to dedicate an island just to fulfilling the most needs for the whole new world (All islands have been taken). Is this a viable plan? I have already built 11 banana farms on a small island with the most efficient plan.

Does anyone elses game take ages to load up?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 05:42 AM PDT

Once my game gets running it runs fine but it just seems like each DLC since this game came out when I start the game up it has taken longer and longer to start up. It feels like ages that I am sitting at the loading screen. Also the game has some crazy hiccups when I click on a menu screen like a route or expedition screen but only the first time I do it each game.

It's def not my PC I have a powerhouse system and my game used to not do this. I've tried reinstalling, verifying files, even lowered the graphics from ultra to high. But it still takes forever to load and has these weird pauses each time I load in the first couple menus I click on but then it will catch up and run fine.

I honestly think it's just that over the course of expansions it's just added so much to the game and there's just so many things going on. Does anyone else have these issues?

edit: p.s. why would someone downvote this thread... reddit is weird

    BSOD suddenly

    Posted: 26 Apr 2021 12:55 PM PDT

    Hi,

I've recently started playing anno 1800 but unfortunately after having a week or so break from it I am now experiencing an issue. If I load the game on DX11 mode sometimes it causes a BSOD within a few seconds of getting into the game or within 15mins. In dx12 mode it's doing the same but no BSOD the computer just restarts. All my other games are fine, just this one. Is it some new weird window update or something? I tried a fresh windows and it done the same. This is on a 5900x 3090 build.

Trade Ship endlessly queuing - help needed!

    Posted: 26 Apr 2021 03:18 PM PDT

Got a bit of an issue with one of my trade routes and I'm not sure what's causing it.

The ship in question, a schooner, is meant to go between two ports, picking up schnapps at A and dropping it off at B.

However, for the last 20 minutes the ship has been queuing empty at port B, setting off for port A, then turning around about halfway and writing at B again.

I'm about to head into debt cause goods aren't going where they're needed, so if I can nip this in the bud I'd be pleased - anyone know what could cause this weird behaviour? Homesick crew, maybe?
