[1800] anyone else really annoyed by this? Posted: 07 Jul 2021 05:50 AM PDT say I have 8 ships on a specific shipping line, all the time they "flock" together, making them all come into a specific port at the same time, instead of scattered throughout the map, have a steady supply all the time I hope I explain this correctly, has anyone found a solution for this? Posted: 07 Jul 2021 10:03 AM PDT When the Docklands first came out and I added it to my existing save, I felt that it was too over-powering and almost game-breaking. I think that is still somewhat true in late game. However, since then I have started a new game with 2 and 3-star AI players and all all regions enabled. My thoughts have since evolved on Docklands. Playing against 2 and 3 star AI players with all regions enabled from get go, requires the human player to have laser focus on expanding and developing the economy (supply-chain management) and building ships and what not. It's too much because the AI will always win in that situation since it can multi-task. As most would agree, the game is at its most complex during the Artisan/Engineer phase before electricity since the human player has to provide needs for 4-tiers without having electrified production. It's also when the human player may be most vulnerable because s/he will have extended supply-chains coming from different islands and may not have enough defenses against expansionist 2-star (Beryl O'Mara) and 3-star players (Lady Hunt). This is where having Captain Tobais and his barter-trade system is really helpful. I was able to sustain my economy by trading excess fish, schnapps and other items for canned goods and fur coats, etc. I was even trading away excess lumber to just survive. I was able to expand and keep the AI at bay while have negative influence though most of that phase. I know that Docklands gets mixed reviews, however, now that I have played a fresh game with Docklands from the start, I felt that this aspect of Docklands was worth highlighting. [link] [comments] |
Should I get the new anno 1404? Posted: 06 Jul 2021 05:25 PM PDT I have the original Dawn of Discovery but I'm curios if I should get the new history edition? Really, I want to know if it will have the sound effects "When have your plants have stopped producing goods" however reviews are also appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Visitors can't use Public Mooring? Actor item for Town Hall not working? Posted: 06 Jul 2021 12:32 PM PDT I built a Public Mooring and connected it to a road, however, every time the timer for the next wave of visitors ends, I get a warning message saying that the visitors have no access to a public mooring to arrive at. What do I need to do in order to make them arrive? Build a special ship or something (can't seem to do that at the sailing shipyard)? Also, I can't make the "actor" item for the Town Hall work. It says when Artisan houses have the theatre need fullfilled (which they have in my case), all of these buildings in range of the Town Hall will be provided with Rum and Canned Food. This seems to not work because both bars wont fill up, if I don't have the production buildings for these active the residents are not getting provided with it. What am I missing here? Anno 1800 slowing down the computer? Posted: 06 Jul 2021 02:39 PM PDT Ive noticed that my pc has been generally slowing down. Ive always thought that anno (even modded) isnt a heavy game performance wise (however i have been noticing lags in game), so im hoping the slowdown isnt caused by anno, but i would like your insights since im not tech savvy at all. Thanks for all your input. Mods used are spice it up, 4th slot in townhalls etc, and some small ones [link] [comments] |
How Commuter Piers interact with Royal Taxes? And Crow Falls! Posted: 06 Jul 2021 01:00 PM PDT I'm wondering the benefits of using a Commuter Pier (CP) when dealing with Royal Taxes (RT). Also, how does this works with Crown Falls (CF)? Will the Queen make me her b* with RT at CF as the population goes bigger and bigger? Is it worth to use CF was a massive plowable land (plus a Palace) and "off shore" the houses to the surrounding islands? I just arrived at CT so I don't know the gig and quests of the region.
