My Sky Trading Post on "Floaty Oaties", my Glacier Island :)

My first attempt to create a mod in Anno 1800. I think one of the 30 beers yesterday was bad.

It's my IRL cake day and I'm excited that as a late birthday present I'll be getting to stream early access for season 4 on Friday for the Twitch Drop event!!

    Posted: 06 Apr 2022 06:51 AM PDT

I know I've been told I'm being hypercritical of things lately with the game, but I still love the development team for everything they do for the community and for continuing to try to provide content that will excite the players! I'm looking forward to trying out the new content. If you're interested in checking it out you can follow my channel at https://twitch.tv/takarazuka or any of the other early access streamers on Friday!

Should I restart now or wait for the new season pass?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2022 05:47 AM PDT

So, I just somehow realised I won't make it any further in my current game since the AI got themself a lot of islands in the new world and I find it challenging getting coffee and rum, which kind of bottle necks me. I think a restart without any AI at all would be quite a good choice, since I am only annoyed by the flat diplomacy and paying my coins to Anne Harlowe.

Then I thought, are there any disadvantages when commencing a save before the upcoming season pass? I would like to avoid restarting again once the pass comes out in a few days, so I would like to make sure I only need to commit to a new game once.

Lag Spikes when hovering over things / menu items

    Posted: 06 Apr 2022 06:59 AM PDT

So I noticed in my old save I had huge lag issues, therefore I started a blank save to test whether it may be due to the huge size of the old save, but it turns out even in a new save these lag spikes happen. I recorded a video of these. They occur whenever I hover over anything interactable. Does anyone already experienced such spikes and how did you fix these?

    Returning Player Advise

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 09:26 AM PDT

    Hello All,

I played Anno 1800 for about 90 hours shortly after release but have yet to return. In my sandbox playthroughs I would get to oil/electricity set-up and start to be overwhelmed or burnt out, but I'm ready to get back at it!

My main question is what DLCs are recommended for a casual playstyle. I do my best to have efficient layouts but I enjoy my cities to look organic and not too modular. I'm not a diehard min/maxer but I do enjoy tinkering for efficiency. The two DLCs that jump out at me are Docklands and Bright Harvest for adding tools for industry and infrastructure. I also enjoy setting up trade lines and build a fleet to beat up on the pirates when I'm strong enough.

    Thanks for your input!

    Bus Stations and Docklands

    Bus Stations and Docklands

I was wondering whether there is any option to get the bus station closer to the core of the docklands without rebuilding it. The nearest bus station is seen at the right.

    Season 4 and Ultimate Edition

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 08:13 AM PDT

Small question, I don't know if anyone knows teh answer. But if I buy now for example the Anno 1800 Ultimate Edition will future seasons like season 4 be added automatically to my game or do I need to buy it separately later?

    Negative Influence of Quests?

    Negative Influence of Quests?

Is it normal that Beryl quite often proposes me quests which seem to lower her opinion towards me?

    Efficieny for production chains

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 03:56 AM PDT

    Hi all.

    1. Is it more efficient (mid-late game) to produce finished materials on local islands and ship them around if necessary, or is it more efficient to ship all raw materials to one specialist island for production?
    2. With that said in #1, how do you go about efficieny production in islands where the raw material availability is unbalanced? Simply said example: 1 iron-3 coal. How do you balance that out? Do you plan 1 steel beam chain and ship/sell the rest of the coal?
    3. How do you all go about your overproduction? For example, maybe you won't overproduce your wheat, but you will at sometime end up overproducing Copper for example.

    THE REVOLUTÄ°ON ANNO1800: CURVED ROADS & DÄ°AGONAL HOUSES

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 10:14 PM PDT

The great change in Anno1800 game play would be those two things. To make the game a brand new game. To change all the landscape of our islands. the curved roads and railways in 4 and 9 empty tiles and diagonal houses. they would be wonderful.

ps: i know that a diagonal building does exisit but i had always problem running the game after modding

    Higher Research Point Cap

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 09:24 AM PDT

    Higher Research Point Cap

I am currently diving deeper into the DLCs and noticed I am stuck on the 1000 research points cap. I built 9 researcher houses and cannot research more since this would require 2000 research points. In order to get a higher cap I figured I require 500 researchers, are currently stuck on 310 and cannot build any more houses. All their available needs are filled, so what piece am I missing out?
