Asia like inspired Region DLC idea

Anno 1800 is an amazing and it really captures the spirit and essence of 19th century.

We have the new world to reflect the US but mostly the Central / South Americas

We have Polar regions which was inspired by the expeditions carried out in this century and later

Enbesa the Anno's take on Africa. Which was once again important for many country in this century like UK or France or the Dutch.

But so far one region is missing to complete the set. And that is Asia.

Europeans started to colonize Asian lands and in most cases it was not pretty for local people. Countries like Vietnam, China, Thailand and Japan felt the Europeans moving in. China as the biggest and most powerful one was way behind in technology and was still ruled by the dynasty and the Emperor.

In game we already have a character that is from "Asia" and I would love to travel to this Asian region and use diplomacy or force to solve many issues. Will you respect the Dynasty? Will you go guns blazing? Will your presence disrupt the natural order of Asian countries?

What goods can we expect from this region? Many! Jade, Spices, Wood, Porcelain, Artifacts, exotic animals, opium, fruits and rice, medicine and TEA!

We could bring technology to this region and create some kind of co-joined effort to make first truly advanced city for the faction we choose to align ourselves with. For example Japan or China. In history Shanghai was one of the most advanced cities in China.

    https://preview.redd.it/uwze1q1f4lr81.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=cc3ed479807c258ba66e7c73d612b215f2c813b5

So you could have India, China, Japan as three major powers in the region. There can also be some kind East Trading company that does things for their own gain no matter cost. And you could choose to ally with these major powers and in exchange for natural resources you would build them a city that would usher new age of progress and technology. In return you could export workers from this region to other parts of the world. In history it was mostly the Chinese who build the US railroads.

You could also discover new ship types and cosmetics and maybe even Asian houses for the old world to even more reflect the people moving in and setting up their own "Chinese districts" and stuff.

Would you like to see DLC set in Asia?

Can someone reccomend a Midgame Tutorial - Going from Workers to Artisans and beyond

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 01:31 AM PDT

So I'm hitting the point where I can't build everything on one island. And probably have to split it up into Beer-Island, Pig-Island and so on. Plus my workers complain about pollution.

Yet tutorials mostly go into Beginner Stuff and don't talk about building up a infrastucture to support the whole chain.

This is my 3rd playthrough and I've always given up after hitting like 300 Artisans. Learing so much on the way, that I'd rather start from scratch than rebuild everything.

Any recommended videos that come to mind? Especially on how to manage the Infra between different Islands. Do you guys use a calculator for everything?

tree placement dosent really work "well"

    Posted: 04 Apr 2022 10:57 PM PDT

So I tried multiple times to add trees ingame but it dosent work on a 1x1 field. It seems like it needs 4x4 but that doesn't work sometimes too.

Storytelling in the Substitute workforce items.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2022 06:13 AM PDT

    Hey Annoholics.

Playing the game and looking at the Anno 1800 asset viewer I noticed that the effect of "Substitute workforce" tells a small story about industrialization.

The most replaced group in the old world is that of the Artisan. And no group ever gets replaced into Artisans. Artisans are always replaced by Workers or Engineers.

This tells the story of how craftspeople/Artisans were historically replaced by machines operated by a large workforce or a few skilled engineers operating the machines. Which was a neat thing to discover.

Did any of you find other stories hidden within the items?

How to get back into an advanced save? Worth it?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2022 08:11 AM PDT

I have been playing on the same endless save with all DLC for about 200 hours since season 1 (my very first game bugged out on a quest shortly after starting Sunken Treasures). Now I haven't touched it much since completing the Skyline Tower last year... when getting back into it, I usually try to identify priorities for about 30 min before throwing the towel and exiting the game because it has become too unwieldy. Too many ships, routes, too complicated logistics, too few notes.

Do you have any tips to get back into a complicated save? Or would you recommend starting a new game to get ready for season 4? I consider duking it out with a hard AI (I usually don't play with hard AI and if I do, I try to buy out everyone as soon as I am rich) and then build up everything from the bottom. I always end up somewhere in limbo between beauty-building and efficiency: too greedy for the former, not enough meta-knowledge for the latter 😀

EDIT: Thanks for the interesting discussion/exchange of playstyles. I started a game without DLC sessions with Silva, Graves and Jorgensen to see some sea battle action. Got to the first artisans and will probably start in parallel with a new save without AI.

Is it worth to buy Season 4 pass for full price?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2022 06:43 AM PDT

Just bought the Game + Season 3 Complete Edition and loved the teaser for season 4, but not sure if I want to buy Season 4 for the full price. Have the season passes ever been on sale or is it not worth it to wait for a future sale and should I just buy it now?

    Ubisoft Connect Statistics incorrect

    Posted: 04 Apr 2022 12:22 PM PDT

So I noticed that my highest attractiveness according to Ubisoft connect is +11; which any Anno player knows is an absurd highest number. It's in reality like +1500 or something; not been the biggest attractiveness enthusiast… anyways anyone else got similar disparities between in-game and the statistics? And any ideas why this may be occurring?

    Prioritising exports?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2022 04:41 AM PDT

If I set a depot to have a minimum stock of 50 sausages, and set up a trade route to export 50 sausages at a time from that depot, will the export lower the supply below the reserve? If not, is there a way I can make it do this? Thanks
