    Taking over sky trading posts

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 05:49 AM PDT

I have come to the point where I chased all of the AI off the map to get more islands for bigger production and I ran into the issue, that my last AI enemy is only holding on to multiple sky trading posts in the arctic. Is there any other way, than slowly spending all my influence on shares until I acquired them all? No way to attack them or his airships?

It seems it's possible to sustain the Arctic with only brass from the old world? The current chain is very inefficient.

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 12:34 AM PDT

Heat resources like shnapps, sleeping bag, parka. They're either imported from the old world, or made in the arctic with complex supply chains. And then there are the needs resources like husky sleds (require complex supply chain), and canned food (imported from old world).

From what i see, all the resources above can be optionally skipped. The residents per house will be reduced. There will be a max of 13 out of 20 technician per house, 10 out of 10 explorers per house.

However, here are what you get:

1 You would only really need to import just 1 good from the Old World on a sustained basis, brass, for oil lamp production. Even resources like schnaps and coals can be optional (though they're easy to make in the Old World so might as well keep importing)

2 Space saved from the 3 (!) dog sled production buildings, the goose farm, the sleeping bag factory, bear hunting cabin, parka factory, seal harbor... a total of wooping 8 production buildings (and many of them are like logging camps, require lots of empty space), as well as the trade routes needed to transport the seal skins.

3 huge work force you just saved. You would need much smaller camp.

4 All those heaters you don't have to construct, considering all production building require it except for charcoal kiln. and therefore less coal consumption.

5 since you require much less coal, and the fact you saved tons of space, you can localize charcoal production using empty space, instead of replying on import from old world.

So all you need to do, after you finish the main Arctic quests, and you want to go for the 4 gas ice mountains, you just use airship to sustain them coal, oil lamp, pemiccan. 13 technician per house so only around 80 technician house in total for over 1000 workforce to fully work the 4 gas clusters (each need 250).

I think the only drawback is higher chance of arctic flu. If im not mistaken, the lower the temp, the higher the chance. With this setup everyone will be "chilling" all the time so higher chance, but you can just build more ranger stations, they're cheap to maintain.

Am i missing something here? It's almost as if 80% of the arctic production chains are redundant.

    Settling In the Arctic

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 07:38 AM PDT

This is my first time diving into the Anno games, and I was wondering for The Passage DLC in Anno 1800 if the other AI can settle into the Arctic before you. My supply chain is all messed up in the Old World, so I keep delaying starting the expedition for The Passage until I stop losing money lol.

Is there a way to stop AIs from attacking each other

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 07:50 AM PDT

I always used to play with the 3 star AIs until I recently found out that you can get the special ship items from Carl Malching as well. So I added him to a new game, but the 3 star AIs (Silva to be precise) defeated him still in early game before Carl served his purpose. Is there a way to prevent that (exept for defeating the attacking AIs before they succeed)?

Need Music files from Sunken Treasures & The Passage

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 11:03 PM PDT

Can anyone please post the music files from Sunken Treasures and The Passage? Or a link to where we can go to download those resources.

I know we have Dynamedion, but that only includes soundtracks from the original Anno 1800 game, not any DLCs.

    Bug with trade routes?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 01:57 AM PDT

I think I found somewhat seroius bug with trade routes, could anyone confirm it?

On new game I created first trade route and it does work, but the port action seem broken. I'm specifically speaking about three buttons/actions you can toggle at each trade route stop: „Wait for goods", „Discard cargo" and „Wait to unload".

The problem is, they do not appear to do anything. There's no sound nor any visual cue telling me I did anything. I know it worked few months back, but today it seemed broken in my game and when I let the ship reach the stop it indeed failed to take the aciton I wanted it to (wait for goods, in this case).

I've only tried it on that one new save, but I tried to delete the route entirely and start from scratch again, only getting exactly same result.

I can't tell this would interact in existing save with existing trade routes, but I could test it later today.

    How to Re-Organize Trade Routes?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 12:51 PM PDT

Hey guys, so I've got a nearly-full Crown Falls with about 100K population in Investors and Engineers. I accomplished this with some... less than organized trade routes. They're a mess and it's hard to keep track of what's going where.

Does anyone have some tips for re-doing and re-vamping their trade routes without causing mass unhappiness?

    Right to remain act

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 04:34 PM PDT

I am wondering how exactly this policy work. Does it replace the specialist pool with a certain subset of specialists or does it merely increase the chances of a few select ones ?

Does it also depend on the level of attractiveness ?

Anno 1404: How do I re-enable the colored "circles" on the minimap/routing menu?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 01:37 PM PDT

When I started playing, the minimap and routing menus showed colored circles that denoted each player's influence area around their warehouses/markets. However, I appear to have turned it off somehow by accident. I can't seem to find any related settings in the menus - what can I do to get this back?
