Anno 1800 desperately needs more variety and game modes Posted: 10 Jul 2020 08:44 AM PDT Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game and I've thoroughly played it all the way to the World Fair with 10000 investors completed. The problem is, once you've played it once, there's pretty much nothing left in the game. All the future games will play exactly the same. Sure, the islands will be different, but the gameplay will be exactly the same with zero new things or variations (additionally - even though setting up trade routes is the core of Anno - the interface and the route management system is very lackluster). What I think the game needs quite a bit is different missions or game modes. For example, maybe there is just an island with grain fertility on the map and you have to fight with other AIs for it. Maybe the arctic doesn't have any coal and you have to organize all the deliveries. Maybe the map is one large island with a lot of very small islands where you really have to think about your production and using trade unions. Maybe one resource is lacking completely from the map and you have to set up trade routes with neutral harbors or with the AI to get them. The game that did it really well was Caesar 4. It had a lot of missions, and all of them had this or that restriction that made playing them varied and unique. And I feel this is something that is much needed in the Anno series. Can you please explain how Coastal Reforms Act in the palace works? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 06:33 AM PDT Is says "+300% productivity for all coastal buildings in range of connected harbourmasters' offices". Yet I do have a harbourmasters office at sea and the buildings are not getting the boost. Is there something else that I need to do - connect them somehow? [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Jul 2020 10:41 PM PDT I feel like I often land myself in the trap of under-building my warehouses, leading my supply chains to become congested, and then never really even notice. Soo — How does everybody approach placing warehouses? Level them up, or place extras nearby? How many carts per warehouse / per level? Will a cart take a set amount of time to unload, or longer for more tons of goods? Designate specific production clusters for specific warehouses, or build as needed? Will production buildings go to whichever warehouse is available, or always go to the closest one no matter how many other carts are assigned? Road efficiency advice??? Thanks folks Edit --- You guys are awesome. Thanks [link] [comments]

Did anyone else get a 1 gigabyte update for 2070? Posted: 09 Jul 2020 02:36 PM PDT I opened Uplay today and noticed there was an update available for Anno 2070. It had taken me a long time to get the game working, so I figured the update might finally be the fix for the broken autopatcher. It is not. Avoid the update if you can. I am back to square 1 with the add-on reboot loop and I'm going to have to fix it again. [link] [comments]
a question about steam vs uplay Posted: 09 Jul 2020 08:54 PM PDT ok, so Anno 2070 Complete Edition is available on both Steam and Uplay for about the same price, but the named DLCs on both stores is different. Is the content still the same? If it is different, is there a way to get the unique content from one on the other? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jul 2020 08:20 PM PDT Hey I have the DLC and activated it in my sandbox game. I got some missions from Mercier the anarchist, and I see there is a kind of progress to the missions, but did not went that far I would say. I also had a kind of unrest event, that ended up me paying the workers... And that's it ... I would like to know what is in the DLC in the end. Is there a 'true', involved story line I should pursue? Who managed to do a lot of missions for Mercier among you? What does he brings in content. Ah yes, propaganda items also, but they seem to not be very interesting to me! [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jul 2020 06:25 PM PDT Just started playing anno 1800 again and i remember being able to tilt the camera and use the middle mouse button to look around. But when i try to do that now it doesnt work. When i press and hold the middle button and move my mouse around it does nothing. I also cant find anything in the controls menu to help me. Anyone have any solutions to this? [link] [comments] |
