[Anno 1800] We need a late game gold sink. Posted: 13 Sep 2020 02:08 AM PDT With Land of Lions coming soon and being possibly the last DLC I think that the money issue of the game should be addressed. In early to mid game money has value and is actually an important factor in development. Unfortunately, once engineers and investors are reached, it is no longer the case. Whether you have an income of 100,000 or 1,000,000 doesn't matter, because there is no way to spend that money. Rolling for items doesn't really count since it is a one time cost. Why is this a problem? Mainly it diminishes the complexity of the game significantly, since money is no longer a factor. It also diminishes the value of clever optimisations, since money is no longer a factor. Of course this is not true if you are going for things like 5 million population etc, then the challenges are different. However I would assume that not many players go for this. What we need is a way to convert the income into other bonuses. Things that come to mind are something like:
Those are just a few ideas. I guess they are too late now, since LoL is probably finished, but perhaps some of those things would be possible through mods, given the really impressive stuff the modders are doing. What do you think? [link] [comments]
Looking for advice. Whats the "best" game in the series? Posted: 13 Sep 2020 10:20 AM PDT I don't know this game series too much, but they seem very interesting. I'd like to know which one of the series fits the most in what I'm looking for:
Any advice will be much apreciated. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

Anyone knows a mod that replaces the default cargo steamship for something more realistic? Posted: 13 Sep 2020 01:43 AM PDT The current model has more like a modern post-1970 container ship layout which really bugs me, it would be nice to have a proper steam merchant ship model. Posted: 12 Sep 2020 06:47 PM PDT I suck at games. I'm playing the Anno 1800 campaign and I guess I'm surviving but not thriving. My ships are vulnerable and I've lost 5 or 6. I'm not enjoying the naval warfare and want to know if there's a setting where I can just build a city in the old world and ignore the new. The game may not be for me and that's fine. I've enjoyed it up to now and I'll try to finish the campaign but I'm not particularly good at this sort of thing so we will see. Advice? [link] [comments]
How to limit FPS in Anno 1701? Posted: 12 Sep 2020 12:42 PM PDT I want to limit this game to 30 fps. This game achieves JUST below 60 fps, and stuttering makes me go crazy with Vsync on. Is this possible to limit frames somehow? Tried Nvidia Control Panel, didn't work sadly. (works in other games) [link] [comments] |
