Cap Trelawney is (certainly) a reference to the Battle of Trafalgar

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 06:53 AM PST

I suppose that most people knew it, but I recently completed again the Cap Trelawney story line and there's a lot of reference to it :

    • The battle of Cap Trelawney happened during October 1805, the same month and year as the Battle of Trafalgar. We learn that thanks to Nadasky's journal

    • It opposed the empire of England and the empire of Spain or Portugal since in the game they say "La Coroa" aswell as La Corona. Trafalgar opposed England and both Spain and France, we could suppose that France was present during the battle of Cap Trelawney but it isn't said in the game.

    • The geographic localisation, both battle took place next to the south of the Old World coastline. And names are similar looking : Cap Trelawney and Cap Trafalgar

    • The strategy use by Nadasky is the same used by Horatio Nelson at Trafalgar, rather than making two parallel battles lines and engage a shooting competition both admirals decided to head straight into the enemy line to create perpendicular lines, being exposed by the enemy cannonballs during the early stage of the Battle.

    • Both admirals got wounded by musket shots during the battle, but unlike Horatio Nelson (he died just after learning of the victory), Nadasky survived the battle as we know from his journal.

    • The battle ended as a decisive naval victory for England, and a terrible defeat for La Corona, which was the same outcome in real life during the battle of Trafalgar.

    • In the in game texts we learn that the flagship of La Corona's fleet was named "Santísima Vitoria" (or something like that), and it was considered as the biggest Ship of the Line ever build at the time. During the battle of Trafalgar, the flagship of the Spanish navy was indeed one of the biggest Ship of the Line of the time, named the "Santísima Trinidad", and both were lost during their respective battles.

There's probably more clues in the story line or in the map but as far as I know I've listed everything up here. If you have any other details to add or some of mine to correct don't hesitate to do so !

How to find my map seed?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 08:52 AM PST

Is there any up-to-date way to find out what your map seed number is? Maybe somewhere in the game files?

How to access Lands of Lions?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 12:35 PM PST

I just bought the Lands of Lions DLC, but I have no idea how to access it. I want to start a new game set in Africa, but I'm not able to. Any idea what's wrong?

    1800 online-only components.

I just wanted to know what stuff in Anno 1800 was online only? I will be playing offline a bunch and in 2070 you had stuff like ark storage and all the voting content etc. that was online only. Just wanted to know what I could be missing out on if I don't have this online.

Worth going Embessa before Crown Falls?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 07:36 PM PST

In my past games I go Crown Falls as soon as I can but this time I'm playing on Advanced difficulty with medium income and all 2 star AIs. It's taken me until 1000 Engineers to get a positive income balance - I have been surviving by selling Soap until now lol. I'm kind of dreading going to Crown Falls and having to start all over again.

I was wondering do you guys think it's worth going to Embessa for Research Institute before going to Crown Falls? I really want to get Coffee in the old world thing.

Also, what's the best method of dealing with Jean Fortune? When I was at peace this guy kept demanding 70k when I don't have that kind of money lying around. Anne Harlow is easier to deal with.

    Thanks!

[Anno 1602] Is there a mobile version?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 11:20 PM PST

    Hello there!

I just used to love playing the game together with my mother back when I was a kid and she was alive . Especially the music (sounds overall) are one of the most beautiful I've ever heard.

Due to the fact that I don't own a PC/Laptop I was just wondering if Anno 1602 is available on mobile phones? I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S10

    Any answers are much appreciated!

Does the whole campaign take place on the same map?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 08:12 PM PST

Anno 1800. My city layout is... questionable, and I'm thinking of restarting if the whole campaign takes place on the same map
