Why I think the next Anno game will be set in bronze age Greece.

Why I think the next Anno game will be set in bronze age Greece.

    Hello everyone,

Ever since the release of Anno 1800 we've all been speculating where (and when) the next anno game will take place. I think it is safe to say we won't see the next anno game untill 2022, or even 2023.

However, I think there are some hints in Anno 1800 which tell what te next game will be. And those hints are in the museum items.

Source: FINALLY!! - Full Museum! : anno (reddit.com)

As you can see, there are 2 sets directly relating to this time period: The bronze age set and the Aegean cultures set. These two taking place during the same periode in history.

The aegean cultures, set in ancient greece (starting around 3200 BC and ending around 1000 BC), make a perfect setting for Anno games. As Greece looks just like a Anno map. In this time periode many temples and palaces were built, so they would act like monuments (As this is highly populair in anno 1800, it seems to me they will continue this mechanic trough the series).

source: Aegean Neolithic and Bronze Age Civilizations - The Human Journey

The bronze age, spanning from 3000 BC untill 1200 BC is roughly the exact same time periode. During this time the great piramide was built. So I think the game's second session will be set in Egypt where you help build a pyramide for the Farao ( A more story based session, like enbessa).

Then there are two more indirect hints, one in the base game and one in the sunken treasures DLC.

The first being: 'The empire of the eagle', which is the roman empire. This empire formed from greek colonies. And is really just greece on steroids.

Source: Atlantis - 10 Weetjes over de beroemde verloren stad - Alletop10lijstjes

The second being the Atlantis set. Tough we all know Atlantis doesn't excist. Some think Plato was inspired by the vulcanic erruptions around 1600 BC (Which is during the aegean time period) on Santorini.

Also, ancient greece (including Atlantis) isn't unknown to Ubisoft. Having AC Odyssey set there.

Tough these are just speculations, I think it is really possible we'll see the next Anno game in an Ancient time period. I'd like to know what you think!

    Electricity and Trade Unions

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 11:00 AM PST

    Hello,

I was wondering if you guys have some tips on layout which allows me to use trade unions and electricity together.

Because the influence area of the power station is small and you can't intersect trade union areas, I have to have buildings outside of trade union area, or outside of the electricity area. What do you guys do for this?

    Tractor Barn Hotkey.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 09:03 PM PST

Can we have one. please. Something near G would suit me nicely. Something I can assign myself would also work.

I know, I know ... not exactly game-breaking. But over the course of a game I build a lot of farms, and rebuild them, and a lot of tractor barns, and .... please.

    My favourite city layout

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 05:50 PM PST

    My favourite city layout

    Dear annoholics,

I would to share my favourite "planed community" layout in an early stage. I hope that it will be full of engineers and investors soon. I named it "Isla noble" (Noble island) in honor to the noble tier of anno 1404.

I have expended amost all my influence in colonizing islands in Old world, New world, Cape and Enbesa to avoid that Hugo takes them up (i do not like the artic).

The lines between neighbourhoods will be ocupped with railways and linear ornaments.

What a great game!!! Developers deserve their earnings

    Docklands: goods to import

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 01:57 AM PST

    hi, y'all

im just wondering, which goods will we be able to import through the new trade contracts?

for example: can i import seal skins for the artic through this system? this is the only good that i need more of to supply more people in the artic (and thus produce money)

there are few goods in anno that have a hard cap that will limit all the rest, and seal skins is one of them unfortunately...

Would you like to more land logistics in Anno?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 02:02 AM PST

I've played older games like Caesar 4, and I've always loved that the goods that get delivered to a warehouse are just there, and not in all warehouses at once. That makes it for a good logistics challenge to get optimal production chains with the shortest distance.

In Anno, even though there is delivery from production to warehouses, all the goods get magically teleported between the island warehouses, which in my opinion not only makes it a lot more simple, but also kills a bit of immersion.

Would you like to see something like this implemented into the Anno series?

    Starting on multiple islands

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 02:02 AM PST

    Good morning all of you.

I've got a question regarding if there is an option / mod / setting for me beeing able to have multiple island right from the get go.

In every single Anno up until 1800 i had a main city island and multiple farming, mining island. I like building like that, i like the look of an island wide city while on the others are just farms and industry all over.

Now I do get and like the workforce addition in 1800 however why do I get the worker pier so late into the game? Is there a way to perhaps change that in some setting or an ini or as I said with a mod?

Thanks for any input on this and enjoy your sunday!

Very basic question about the game and if it is for me

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 06:04 PM PST

So I apologize if this is a basic question, but I have had my eye on this game for a while now. First of all, I am a SUCKER for simulation games. I have wasted countless hours on games like Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, Cities Skylines to name a few. I like games that have lots of simulation happening resulting in random interesting events popping up every now and then.

I have not played any Anno games yet (even though I think I might have some of the old ones in my UPlay library).

So, my question is - What is this game about? Is it just a trade simulator where you get raw materials, exploit resources and build a trading network? Or is there some more strategy and simulation to it? I really like the detailed graphics in this game, however, how much of that "graphics" is actually relevant to the game? I mean let's say a boat is coming with goods from another island. Can this boat get hijacked in the seas? Will the quantity of the raw materials in store increase the moment the boat docks in the harbor? Or is there no coherence between the two? I really like these kind of small details.

    Thanks.

    Game freezes at loading screen

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 01:24 PM PST

I've seen a few posts about bugs people have been experiencing while in the game since the new patch. I was wondering if anyone else has had the game freeze while you're loading a save? I verified the files and a few corrupt files were found and repaired but I'm still having the same problem.

Bug with Kidusi Anitoni "The Track of the Oracle" quest

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 07:21 PM PST

Hi! I'm having troubles with completing the Kidusi Anitoni quest line. I've completed everything else on Enbesa and the only two quests left are "The Track of the Oracle" and (I suppose) the final quest from the Emperor, where he wants me to deliver a person to Kidusi Anitoni island, which would fail the Kidusi questline for me. So for this quest "The Track of the Oracle" I need to deliver "other transcripts" to the scholar and I have one - "Transcript of Oracle's Etchings" (I suppose that's what the English title of that is, as I'm region locked in another language). However when I bring this item to their island, nothing happens.

I found another post that has the same problem - https://www.reddit.com/r/anno/comments/jths80/kids_antoni_quest_bug/ and the only solution I found there is to load an earlier save, which is not possible for me. I've stopped playing Anno for 3 months anticipating the patch to fix this, but it didn't. It's extremely frustrating. Did anyone encounter this and knows if it's possible to solve this?
