    DLC Idea/Request - Boardwalks

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 06:10 AM PST

Whether added to the upcoming Tourist DLC or as a standalone purchase like City Lights, I would love to see an option for adding Boardwalks along with pertinent ornaments and items to create a seaside resort area typical of turn of the century Atlantic City, NJ.

Used in conjunction with the City Lights pack and the Amusement Park pack it would make a great addition to really beautify the seaside.

With Docklands you can use the benches and tree ornaments to make a seaside tourist area but they really don't look touristy. More industrial. Being able to stretch a boardwalk down the length of the beach with ornamental buildings like confectionary stores and souvenir shops would be great. Animations of people being pushed about in little wicker push carts would be great. etc....

    Old AC push cart: http://www.obnoxiousantiques.com/inventory/atlantic-city-wicker-boardwalk-push-cart-chair/

Adding a pier stretching out into the harbour from the boardwalk which you could then place amusements and stores from the other DLC's would be great as well.

Am I the only one who dreams of a Dishonored mod ?

Am I the only one who dreams of a Dishonored mod ?

I'm a huge fan of Dishonored and in fact that's the game that ma de me love the 1800's atmosphere we also find in Anno, but even if it's unrealizable I would've love a dishonored themed mod that could really bring the vibe of this universe into anno 1800, some elements could really fit well in the game like a whale oil oriented industry instead of petrol, A serkonos inspired style for new world, monuments, AI opponent and so on...
Any other fan of both games ?

What is harder, a single 3 stars AI or all 3 stars AI?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 01:55 AM PST

The idea is that, if you have multiple 3 stars AI, they will fight against each other and self-destruct, curbing their power.

Whereas with a single 3 AI (and either no other AI, or 1 stars), it will expand way easier.

    What do you think?

Your Process to Starting A New Game with Settings

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 12:04 PM PST

Okay, so I've only played about 300 hours with about 150 hours in one save. That game was all easy with the three one star AI. 200k population and I've kind of at that point where the games just on autopilot and it's doing nothing for me. Docklands kind of made me want to start over.
I've started some new saves on advanced and expert but the small islands and limited resources kinda underwhelms me. I like growing population and building big islands (along with crown falls)

I'm kind of curious if there are people in here that just stick to Easy with One Star AI or does everyone go up to Expert++ once you've played enough. I'm used to progression in games to want to scale up and go for harder difficulties but stuff like bigger islands and more resources is what I think I like best.

I know I'm being a little nitpicky but I've been trying to start new saves at harder difficulties but didn't like them as much as the easiest mode. Thank you for any insights to what you do as a player.

When to best unlock new session?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 07:30 AM PST

    Dear,

I really love the Anno 1800.

Sometimes the amount of quests, expeditions, buying of new items to put in zoo, harbour master office, unions and townhalls, keeping population satisfied and keeping explosions, fires and sickness as low as possible, newspaper adding while cityplanning can 'allthough I love it' be a bit overwhelming for me due to the way I play the game.

I wish to ask my question specifically for me, so I explain how I play a bit:

So far I have played probably thousands of hours but never gotten further then the beginning of the engineer tier as I keep being busy with new quests and expeditions to first upgrade everything in order not to worry what I couldnt find during that tier. Also I put a lot of work in writing down the highest possible combinations for doing the expeditionts with the current items I have, and keep it updated. and making it possible to fully make use of the unions and avoiding royal taxes by keeping my first 2 tiers under 1000 per island. I have 4* islands in the old world and 2 in the new (*+2 islands so I would have 150 influence on islands and get the +100 workforce bonus ). I max avoid waste by micromanageing the amounts of supplys I need to keep my population happy and nurtured. So also the speed of the ships and the amount of cargoslots used are taken into account (and sometimes timed, which turned out a bit useless as the winddirection changes the speed). As this takes time, I only play with the 3 easy competitors whom I conquer after buying all their shares before going to the new world. I think I play all the available quests and rarely fail at any of them.

I understand I have a particular way of playing Anno 1800, but I really love it, and get the most out of it from the early stages on, in order to get my maximum attention to the next thing I wish to achieve in the game. I just bought the 3 seasons and wish to know what I should have ready before I start the expedition to the land of lions, the cape trelawney and the passage?

My question is: when would it be for me (in my case :) ) the best moment to open new sessions like land of lions? and also when would I get the expeditions for cape trelawney and the passage?

So far I know not to go to 250 artisans before I have my new world completely set, as at 250 artisans the docklands open, which as it is new to me will take some time to figure out what to overproduce, wilst not to be busy with hopping back and forth to old and new world too much next to the usual quests I would get.

I especially look forward to the cape trelawney as I am a bit into steampunk and looking forward to dive with this diving bell and searching for the spots on the map.

This game probably will give me a few more years of enjoyment. :)

    Can’t activate DLC

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 06:05 AM PST

I purchased Anno 1800 last year. I couldn't play on my lemon laptop so I haven't really started to play until this year. I just noticed that everything in Season 2 is active and has a star on it but everything in Season 1 is not active. It says I own it and when I go to click on it I am asked for an activation key. I have searched my emails and don't see anything from Ubisoft about activation codes. Any ideas? I have submitted a ticket but they say it could take a while.

Need help and its a little cheating

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 01:17 AM PST

Hello anno fam, I currently have a coop session with a friend started after the docklands update and we have an issue that its reported on the anno forum. After completing the expedition for enbesa, keteme should give a ship to settle a island, but after the latest patch there is no ship.

So my question is, anyone know any cheat that can let me add some clay from enbesa to a warehouse, in order for us to settle.

Edit: Thx guys for all the feedback, i managed to download a table for cheat engine that allowed me to modify any item to mud bricks using asset viewer.

What do you want to see more of?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 01:48 AM PST

    Fellow Annoholics

It's amazing that we have so many fans in this subreddit – old players, new players, youtubers etc.

To this amazing community – one ask: what do you want to see more of (in terms of videos)?

    - Short videos focused on learning one thing? If so like what?

    - Series of playthroughs showing from day 1 to end game? Any specific types (difficulty level, AIs, etc.)?

    - End results – short videos showing end game saves?

    - Anything else?

I have a few videos in prep but would also love to better understand the demand (and I'm sure the other amazing youtubers here like Taka or FOX Gaming would also love to know more)

    Thanks in advance

JOIN OUR MOVEMENT (and play anno on mac)

There is this narrative from tech companies that you have to buy a new computer every few years for huge amounts of money to keep up with resource performance. We think you should only pay for expensive hardware if you really need it, and we also want to help those who are (maybe emotionally) attached to their computers and don't have the money to buy a new computer for a few thousand dollars every few years.

We are super excited to see what is currently possible in the cloud gaming space and how far technology has advanced to enable such use cases. We looked at other industries and how they are using this kind of technology, we felt that especially in the creative sector there are many industries that would also benefit from superfast remote computers.

Surprisingly we didn't find any solutions that would be simple enough that a self-employed creative could use them without having to study the subject in depth. So we made it our mission to bring the benefits of cloud computing and streaming a computer from the cloud to people who need this in their everyday life and to find out how we can help them.

To introduce ourselves, there are currently three of us working from Berlin, Hamburg and Lenggries, with most communication taking place remotely. We are just closing our very first pre-seed funding round and are super motivated to bring a beautiful product to market in just a few months.

We really want to connect with the you guys on Reddit because it is a direct and uncomplicated way to get real and honest feedback from people who would really benefit from this, so we are really grateful that we have the chance to talk to you as a community. There are so many areas where we can help people solve their everyday problems, which means that we're also talking to quite a few subreddits.

We would love to hear your ideas and can't wait to get a discussion going. We're also growing our community at /teamrender, so if you're interested in helping us on our journey and securing an early beta spot, upvote this post, check back with us there or claim a spot on render.so. As a treat, here's a video from a Render cloud computer getting insane down-and upload speeds on an AWS server, and no, we didn't just ping our datacenter. Thanks for your time :)
