Logistics and storage: classic Anno vs. 2205

    Posted: 07 May 2021 11:28 PM PDT

So 2205 got a lot of criticism because of the way it simplified many aspects of the Anno series like trade, service, pre-made maps, etc.

I wonder what is the general sentiment specifically about the logistics and storage system implemented in 2205. Classic Anno games use physical resources that are transported around whereas 2205 uses an abstract logistics value without actually transporting resources.

In particular I'd love to hear your opinions on these questions:

    1) What's your overall opinion between the two approaches?

    2) If Anno 2205 still had all other classic Anno features (micromanaged trading, services with influence areas, procedural maps, etc) but retained the simplified logistics system, would it be good/bad?

    3) If you didn't like 2205's logistics, is it because of its legacy as an Anno game or because you think it's boring and/or bad game design?

    4) For those who play other city-builders, what are your favorite resources logistics designs and why?

GPU goes up to like 90c when in menu?

    Posted: 08 May 2021 01:30 AM PDT

What's going on? When I play anno 1800 the GPU temperature is usually around 70c. But if I open the menu and leave it open the GPU temperature keeps rising seemingly forever. The GPU shouldn't be most stressed looking at a menu screen. The cooling on this graphics card is pretty bad though a Gigabyte RTX 2080 Windforce. Still it's odd the most demanding part of the game is rendering a static menu screen.
