We shouldn't post anything that reminds us of Anno, but I really thought it was a never-seen concept art for 1800 for a moment ! Such Anno vibes !

How much production can you squeeze out of a Sand Mine?

How much production can you squeeze out of a Sand Mine?

It turns out a whole lot.The thing needs to be done on the main island with the Palace, a single Ministry won't cut it.

Create a "combo pit", by building 5 Sand Mines next to each other on a coast, so that they can all be within a range of a Trade Union and a Harbormaster's Office. Then move any clay pits that are on the island into the range of the TU (using research). Supply it all with electricity,

In the Palace pick the following bonuses:- in the Department of Labour - Galvanic Grants Act (+50% productivity from electricity),- in the Department of Trade - Coastal Reforms Act (+300% productivity for all coastal production buildings).

Equip the Trade Union with the following items:- Steven MacLeod, Geological Surveyor,- Fine Handheld Power Auger,- Feras Alsarami, the Persuader.

Equip the Trade Union with the following items:- Sticky Shiny Claws (manufactured at Old Nate's in Cape Tralawney).

Have the Bronze Age set completed in the Museum.

    Behold!

82 Sand, 36 Clay, 36 Pearls and 37 Gold Ore per minute!

From merely 5 Sand Mines and 4 Clay Pits. :D

That's not the maximum you can achieve, because the attractiveness of my main island was only 11k, so you can get a bit more from the Palace.

Buy DLC now or after a vanilla playthrough?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:41 AM PDT

I've played Anno for about 15 hours right after the release. After a long hiatus I see there's a lot of new content for the game!

I installed Anno again yesterday but what would be wise to do? Buy all the DLC now and start a new game? Or play vanilla first to get a feeling? I'm scared to get overwhelmed by all the DLC content..

How big of a leap is it? Thanks in advance!

    Shout out to Bruno Ironbright!

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 05:38 PM PDT

Okay, so I LOVE this trade union guy. (For those who don't know, you get 1/3 steam motors and adv weapons when producing sewing machines, pennys, and motorcoaches). 3 out of 4 of my last play-throughs I got him accidentally very easily. Once was a gift and the other a dumb easy quest.

He changes your life in conjunction with Docklands. Even if you are at war all the time there is no way you can use that many adv weapons and they are insanely valuable. Once I get him in a game I never worry about mines again; iron, coal, quartz, copper, zinc, limestone, wood, saltpetre, GOLD. And you even start building up enough to replace entire high-value production chains. I have 10,000 scholars and haven't produced a single telephone.

So shout out to this guy. If you haven't fallen in love yet 10 out of 10 do recommend.

Buy from Epic or Ubisoft store?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 08:13 AM PDT

Is it better to buy the complete edition from Epic or Ubisoft store?

They both have the same price at the moment.

Ubisoft offers their coins as a reward which would make me get a 20% discount code for the next purchase.

If I buy form Epic store I could also in the future use Epic store to buy DLC, i guess it's not possible to buy DLC on Epic for games that you dont own.

    Anno with non-grid style

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 04:37 AM PDT

It would be nice to see the next Anno offers free-form feature. I'm not saying to remove the grid feature. It's kinda hard to explain but just take Cities Skylines as example which allow players to make curvy road/tracks but the grid system is still there for building placement. if player want to make boxy layout, the road can snap to 90° angle. It really hurt my eyes to see those train make unrealistic sharp 90° turn in Anno 1800.

What DLCs should I be getting for 1800?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 10:00 PM PDT

    Hi r/anno

I want to pick up anno 1800 again after about 1 year of not playing it. I've seen there's 9 DLCs from 3 seasons now and I'm wondering DLCs (or whole seasons) are worth getting. Thanks in advance!
