    DEFEAT because I lost my new world warehouse?

    So I'm playing the campaign vs two 3-star AI, and I've been busy at war with 1 of them (Lady Margaret Hunt). I'm at war with her capital and slowly destroying the harbour defences with hit and run tactics (like 7 SOL's and crushing her navy), but suddenly I get DEFEAT! Why? I lost my new world colony that I barely worked on, she moved 2 ship of the lines to her new world and destroyed my colony there. I'm focusing on taking her main island, with engineers and all, but I'm the 1 that lost because I lost some colony I had just established and was of no significant relevence in this game yet, couldn't even grow cotton there. This feels really dumb as what's stopping me from going back to the new world and settling again, just like the AI does? I lost Cape Trelawney but I didn't care, it still let me keep playing. The only way I should be defeated is if I lose all of my colonies, feels like a really cheap defeat.
