The reward for donating item to the Institute is way too low.

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 10:20 AM PST

Only 250 points for a legendary is a waste of time since it only takes seconds for it to regenerate that much naturally. A legendary should be worth at least a couple of thousands points maybe more. And make it so that donating items allows you to go over the research point cap so theres another way of acquiring expensive research projects in the short run before you get enough schoolars.

    Good but could be better!

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 08:50 AM PST

You guys ever get that moment where you're like "my city/empire is good but it could be better. Especially when you learn something you didn't know/realize.

Now, I'm at that point where I'm like....maybe I could start over and it would be set up better...

New layout -> Maximizing Town Halls

New layout -> Maximizing Town Halls

    https://preview.redd.it/gafojzcablm61.jpg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=660379bf54a3c6ed6b4723a33d540c1458cafee1

    Hi everyone,

In the late game, I figured out that items are the best way to keep your population fed and generate income. Thus, I decided to move all my residents from this to what you see above. Took me a few hours.

I haven't really seen any layout yet that focuses on maximizing the items in the town halls. (Example: on this page, the layouts focus on having the least amount of services possible)

Like this, I can have Investors with coffee, champagne, bank, member's club, whatever, without any effort. Just finding the right item. (having items improving the specialists arriving helps a lot)

First post ever in the subreddit btw. (second post ever overall)

Here's another image. What do you think?

How do YOU play Anno 1800?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 10:30 AM PST

Question is in regards to sandbox settings and choice of DLC. I think I kept a few DLCs off on my first run because i didn't want to get overwhelmed but now im finding that a lot of the AIs are just annoying. Beryl is so expansionist and gets mad at anything I do so I spend a lot of time gaming diplomacy to make her happy.

But then will the game be boring if I just turn her off? I made friends with the pirates too so all it does is somewhat slow. Me down early game.

    How do you guys play?

    Free harbour area glitch?

    Free harbour area glitch?

Not sure what is causing this. I have a large chunk of free land on a populated island on the new world along a coastline, I've build more stuff along this coastline like pearl farms etc. But there a section towards the end where the game just won't let me build anymore pearl farms or anything. It just keeps giving me an error that it needs free harbour area, you can see in this screenshot...but it is a free area, really confused!

    Old Town mod question

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 06:55 AM PST

I present you „Vagantia City“. It’s still in building phase like the museum on the right and the harbor. Around 100.000 people. I love what you can do with all these ornaments and different buildings.

Can I finish the Docklands Quest in Cape Trelawny?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 09:20 AM PST

I accidentally started the Docklands Questline in Cape Trelawny. But I only get the Quest in my Questbook while being in the old World. The Whale is now stuck in Trelawny and I cant escort it since the quest is only active while not being there :(
    Any Ideas?

Do you need the Salvager/diving bell for other DLC's?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 03:27 AM PST

What happens when you select all of your DLC but not Cape Trelawny? Do you still need the diving bell for the other DLC or can you still progress in the Passage, Embesa, or new world. I want to start an new online game with my brother, but we dont want to add Cape Trelawny because we fight over Crown Falls.

Anyone ever notice the man in window on artisan buildings?

Town Hall worker item question for ideal performance.

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 05:49 AM PST

My first Anno game. I have a Island of Workers and Artisans. The town hall for workers I put Arch-Archbishop Archibald, Brasserie Patron Mertens and Dennis Brammen the Food Critic, these seemed to me the best combo. This combo should mean no pubs or church built, yet the church is needed for the buffs to be active and provide the supply.

For the Artisans town hall I am thinking Arch-Archbishop Archibald over Gordon the Master Grocer as both provide beer but the working conditions buff may be useful? Not sure other two slots for Artisans town hall, actor added, one more needed.

Edit: For workers town hall remove Brasserie Patron Mertens as the buffs are provided by the other two and replace with the one that gives school supply.

Edit Edit: So for the final Artisan slot thinking Very Senior Lecturer over Critically-Acclaimed Tragedian? for the added workforce.
