Can my PC specs handle anno 1800 on high settings? My CPU is just too hot while playing the game. Got a cpu cooler that comes along with it when I bought my computer. Also the chassis got like 6 fans. 3 in front, 2 on top and 1 at the back.

Will my Ubisoft DLC 's and Season pass work with an Epic Standard 1800 Standard edition?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 04:35 AM PDT

If someone already answered this, I am sorry but I cant find a clear answer on Ubisoft, Epic or Steam?

I was on Ubisoft+ subscription but stopped it. Now I see the Standard version on sale half price and I would like to own it but, I'm not clear if the platforms are compatible with one another ?

I already own all the DLC's and now year 3 pass on Ubisoft for the latest stuff.

Am I right that the Epic version wont be down loaded on my PC? Would it work with the DLC's I already have or do I have to "do" something to the files?

A simple yes or no would be helpful or please tell me where this may be explained (which would be extremely helpful)?

    No illness in Ebesa

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 06:28 AM PDT

Looks like a bug. There is 0 chance of illness in Ebesa. Every hospital has illness chance at 0% even if you put working condition of residents to 50%, and no household has any illness chances.

My fix for low fps/GPU bug

    Posted: 04 Jun 2021 08:01 PM PDT

    Hi all,

After a week of trying to fix a fps/GPU usage bug, I finally found a solution, and so decided to write something quickly. Caveat: this solution involved a Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card and so may not be universal.

I recently returned to Anno 1800 after nearly two years. However, when I started up (same computer, settings) I noticed I was getting ~20 fps in the game and options menu, despite the fact that I had no performance issues when I first played. I looked for (and found) many potential solutions online, but none worked; I tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, updating my GPU graphics card (Nvidia GTX 1060) drivers, rolling back to older drivers, setting Ubisoft Connect and Steam to offline mode, etc.

After days of troubleshooting, I finally realized that Anno was always using my computer's integrated graphics card, despite the options menu saying it was using my GPU. I used the Nvidia control panel and Windows Graphic setting to set Anno to run using my GPU, but the game continued to use the integrated card without fail. The solution that finally worked is as follows:

    1. In the Nvidia Control Panel, go to Manage 3D settings → Program Settings and ensure the Anno1800.exe file is using your dedicated graphics card (this step might be redundant if you are running Windows 10).

    2. In Windows → Settings → Graphics settings, click browse and ensure the Anno1800.exe file is selected, then click options and make sure the program is using your high performance graphics card. Make sure that Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is toggled "off".

    3. In Windows, navigate to This PC → Documents and find the Anno 1800 folder. Delete this folder and launch the game (which will generate a new folder when it runs).

As of this writing, this solution is working for me. I have tried this using GTX 1060 driver versions 456.87 and 466.63, with both working. I'm not an expert, but I'll speculate that whatever was causing the bug was in the This PC → Documents → Anno 1800 folder, which seems to stick around even if Anno 1800 itself is uninstalled and so often goes unchecked.

    Best.

    What a Frustrating Experience

    Posted: 04 Jun 2021 12:12 PM PDT

I've got two clippers on my new world route, each with a few escorts. Well shit a run of bad pirate encounters wipes a clipper and its two frigates. That's annoying, but I assign another ship + escort right away. I note that this will probably interrupt the rum supply and I might lose some income.

Well when the rum shortage hits, I go from +$2.5k to -$5k. Holy fucking shit when is the next rum shipment? Oh it just entered the old world map, it should be in port soon.

Except it won't. It has to sail upwind the entire length of the map. Omg it's so slow. It's so slow that the second clipper on the rum route crosses the fucking Atlantic Ocean in the time the first ship takes to get halfway to my port.

I'm trying to buy time. I sell some opponent island shares for $25k. Not much time though. I cross into the negative.

Suddenly "Defeat" pops up on my screen. No warning, no text in the defeat box. Just the word "Defeat" and an empty dialog box. It's so anticlimactic I don't even know what happened. I assume I lost too much money.

8 hours of gameplay and all my design and attention just torched unceremoniously with no explanation. I assume because my peeps ran out of booze.

I just had to vent a little. I enjoy the game but it feels like a balancing act with how easy and quickly things go wrong and how long it takes for your corrections to take effect. And ultimately it feels like it doesn't respect my time when I get a "Defeat" dialog without even an explanation... Might be a while until I play again.

    Posted: 04 Jun 2021 06:36 PM PDT

    Hi,

So I am not looking for max buildings layouts with trade unions. I simply want layouts that look nice, I am trying to get layout that fit together nicely with silos. Like the pig farm, nice symmetrical and fits together perfectly. Anyone have some resources for me?

    Favorite map seeds Anno1800

Whats your favorite map seed? Starting a new run and looking for advice. I've been on the anno1800 wiki and have enjoyed some of the map seeds, but wondered what your favorite/go to are.
